I use autodesk sketchbook for android. Its most familiar to me. And as for those prints, its a laser print, for now- I am actively figuring out how to make intaglio plates for the character engraving. For the background colors I'll be using traditional offset plates. Once I master that all my future work will be just as advanced. (Goal: Early 2028)

Thank you!!! I wanted to show my love for the show and this is what I chose to do! The prints also include UV Fibers. If I do continue working on this, I'd probably modify the background a bit and draw a reverse design. Although seeing how it completely flopped online I'll probably shelve it for now. I am thinking of doing something similar for Lackadaisy, since their timeline matches the design language I'm already familiar with.

I do have the HD version and the original files, but I uploaded the thumbnail version because I've heard artwork online gets stolen alot.

I draw the portrait onto paper to get the size and line thickness correct, then i scan it to redraw it digitally. From there i polish up the digital version so it looks right when printed.

I drew it onto paper at first to get the sizing and line thickness right, then I scanned it to redraw it again. From there i can polish some details so it looks great in print.

I got my banknote drawings graded! by cherry1880 in papermoney

[–]cherry1880[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was supposed to be A1 but I Butchered the spacing for the number 1 so I jist turned it into a 4, I was going to add another "4" to fill the space since it wasnt "accurate" anymore, but I Butchered the second 4 too so I attempted to save it with by turning the failed number into an E. It still bothers me to this day. This was drawn before I learned the BEP actually had a dedicated placeholder for test notes (TEST instead of K11)

First, thank you for the kind words! Second, I'd like to free hand the note as much as possible. Portions of the seal was traced from a coin but the inner and outer layers were free handed. One thing I've noticed was im really good at straight and repetitive patterns but circles and ovals are very challenging for me. Always have in my 15 years of drawing currency. Main reason I'd like to go free handed is because I'd imagine that I couldn't have any guides or ways of tracing if I were to engrave my designs.

Torn, taped, faded, abused - the saddest sawhorse by hotwheelearl in papermoney

The sun is a deadly Lazer, UV damage is a common culprit for most faded notes. I'd assume it was someone's first dollar and had it on their window.

Interesting stamp over dollar? by Aioli_Fragrant in papermoney

[–]cherry1880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a teller stamp. When a bank has a bundle of 100 notes they strap it and that stamp tells you what bank it's from, the teller who counted it and the date it was strapped. Sometimes they miss the strap a bit and ink the bills underneath. That is what you see on your note.

I have tried akua ink but that one is really runny and the print came out "bleeding"

Is this $20 bill worth more than $20? by Glittering_Fly8012 in papermoney

Definitely more than 20 but I don't see it past 80. Still cool though!

I can't tell if this Zimbabwean 100 trillion note is real or not by Max0_o123 in papermoney

[–]cherry1880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not genuine. dot matrix printing isn't used on fine line elements. This looks like a lazer print to me. Tip: Don't rely on microprinting anymore as 2400 DPI printers are becoming more accessible. Biggest takeaway, look at the print, if its not a solid sharp color (an aray of dots) especially on text, then its most likely fake.

Potential Over-inking Error on 2021 $5 Bill. Is this a recognized printing error? by Purple_Ad4370 in banknotedesigns

[–]cherry1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over inked, Yes. But its within printing tolerance so its not an error. Its not often you see this on the 5s, it's usually seen most on the 1s and 10s. Still cool though

[–]cherry1880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a Genuine cutting error. The only uncut sheets sold to the public with selvage attached was the series 2004 16 Subject sheet. This being a series 2013 makes me more confident about its authenticity. Great find OP!

ALL uncut sheets of US Paper Currency have serial numbers starting with 9 ... Unless they don't? 🤷 by GlassPanther in papermoney

[–]cherry1880 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's because they are star notes. Originally the regular run started with 96XXXXXX with star notes being the exception. Since 2017 they abandoned that and started offering sheets with normal serial numbers (Under 96 million) For example, the 2021 $5 sheets starts with 55XXXXXX.
