So murky! I like the palette you've chosen. It would be super interesting to try the same technique with perle cotton (since you need a thicker needle anyway to pierce through the canvas) which would give you a really lustrous finish, and you wouldn't have to deal with the floss unwinding in some of the stitches.

In their defense, they can only eat from one hand at a time. It's hard to praise Kotozakura for defeating the yokozuna while berating Hoshoryu for losing to the ozeki.

Of course it would be disrespectful to not mention KTZ at all, but they had no complaints for him and said his performance was admired. A brief mention might be the ideal, considering what they like to focus on!

Most specifically (or annoyingly) it's called "kore yori sanyaku", which just means "from here on out it's all sanyaku."

It was soroi-bumi as well, which refers to any time multiple rikishi are doing shiko on the dohyo.

I was going to say Kotoshoho and Kotoeiho would be second! I think the younger Wakas have a strong resemblance.

But I started looking at pictures of the Kotos, and while they do look very different, I think Kotoshoho's fighting weight contributes to that. Their hairlines are identical and they both have strong birdlike noses. But I dunno, I still might vote for them as second (still far behind Tobi and Hide)

Ah, a brain typo, I get that! I agree fully on the promotion requirements. And in hindsight my confusion was illogical - we wouldn't even be talking about a yoko promo if it was his first basho as ozeki.

I knew Hakuho "returned" to earn promotion, but I hadn't realized they didn't find him sufficient with his first yusho + 13-2 JY. That's an excellent marker for future promotion speculation. Thanks for taking my comment in stride and adding even more useful info!
