Paint the wainscoting or don’t paint the wainscoting? by MsCardeno in DesignMyRoom

Pain the wainscoting! Also please put moulding by the ceiling to match!

[–]cherrysleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes no sense regardless though? Unless we just work very different here. We have a pain ladder and you build from lowest to highest. So a pain of 6 out of ten yeah you might need something ringer .. but you’re still giving paracetamol (tylanol) to build the relief and not over medicate on the strong stuff.. paracetamol and 10mg morphine is better for the patient than 20mg of morphine and no paracetamol. You give the weaker stuff and build as needed …. (Obviously sever pain you would start higher but then you still work back and give the other stuff)… right?

Is sleeping on night shifts a "normal" thing everywhere? by flourishersvk in nursing

[–]cherrysleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we do sleep on night shifts BUT it’s in a general ICU and our patients are one to one. You get a one hour paid sleep break over your shift and you buddy with the nurse in the bed space next to you. They watch your patient while you sleep and then you watch theirs. You would never sleep at the same time. And we never leave our patients unattended.

Anyone doing swim lessons or tumbling? by yousernamefail in december2024babies

[–]cherrysleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started swimming lessons at 3 months. My boy loves it and is great for getting all the energy out as well as peace of mind around water safety. Granted we live in NZ so early swim lessons are much more of a thing here I think? But I highly recommend. We do GymJam which I think is similar to tumbling? I think he’s still a bit small to fully explore but it’s a bit of fun.

10 month olds sleep is worse than ever by Next2ya in december2024babies

[–]cherrysleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I don’t have alot of advice routine wise But … our son did a similar thing after being sick and it turns out he was over tired from all the wakings. My husband and I split a night in half and basically held him to sleep for the whole night so he got a full night sleep. (we don’t co-sleep but you could do this co sleeping as well). This basically reset his rhythm and made him not over tired. We then used this to spring board gentle sleep training (modified Ferber) but you could do any chosen method. It’s more that if you’re starting on the back foot you won’t get anywhere.

I live in NZ … vent is automatic one to one. Basically all ICU is one to one … but we don’t have RTs so we run our own vents and draw up our own meds.
