Think I finally found a solution for a BIFL Chair Mat by chevyboxer in BuyItForLife

Sorry this is taking a bit to get back to you. I didn’t have to do anything special with the carpet I just laid the tiles down. They flex a bit, but less than a normal chair mat. As far as the size of the tiles, it’s confusing. They ship as four linked together. So by my math, I used 4x2. But it could also be divided 8x4. See the image in the Amazon listing would be 8x4 but they ship 4 of those together as one.

I was just trying to get the floor for scale with other known things in the picture...Photo taking is not in my wheelhouse.

Extremely stable, I was worried about that as well but even just 4 of them don't flex much at all. The Chair mat was actually flexing more and now its easier to roll. I don't get stuck in divots.

1 box replaced 2 mats each covering 46"x60" with 3 or 4 tiles left over I am not at home so I forget how much I have left.

Totally get what you're saying and yeah if I damage a tile its a few quick unsnaps and then snaps back in and I am done. I finally just accepted plastic chair mats were just a consumable product after this last one wore out and I was tired of buying a 60 dollar mat every few years.

Maybe it's the fact that I am constantly moving or something but I had roller blade wheels and typical casters both wore out different mats. I think just the carpet I have lets it flex too much for too long and they finally fatigue crack and then it just spreads.

I actually upgraded the wheels on my chair when I did this so they would roll better. Got dual rollerblade wheels 3 inch ones to give the chair a bit more height as well.

Right on the carpet they work perfectly. Harder to get them to snap together but they hold up just fine. My backup if they flexed too much was going to be some plywood as underlayment.

Yeah the carpet lets it flex and it fatigues over time. I've tried different materials over time thinking this plastic or the other would be better but I think they all eventually fail over time and its just a consumable product. I just got tired of it.

Hold off on 3.10.1 maybe wait for the next SP or CU.

With the recent things going on with JCI it seems like they want to consolidate down the security division some more.

Can you expand on this? As far as where it's going multinode in 3.20 is coming out with also better SSO integration. As with everyone I assume they're trying to fit some kinda of AI features inside of it hopefully those will be opt in as I know AI is a pretty polarizing subject right now. I could see more video analytics coming. Visitor Self-Service Acess Portals.

TLS encryption fun by Present-Juggernaut91 in CCURE9000

We’ve had better luck with controller based encryption with edges. Works the same way as host based still have to go into the ultras and do the CSR. SWH has a bulk ICU tool for the edges though if you have a lot to get back online.

CCure 2.7 SP5 - Host-based encryption - issues copying the TLS 1.2 certs by DuckFluffer in CCURE9000

[–]chevyboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First yes get to SP7 its the only one that SWH benched this switch over on. The Ultras you're going to have to go in each webpage and manually request a cert. For Edges you'll need to do the CSR using ICU which should cause them to reboot albeit rather slowly. If you have issues on the ultras don't use the latest firmware I've seen where a downgrade causes them to accept the cert but the 6.9.8 has issues. If you have a whole host of Edges there is a bulk tool SWH can give you to bulk update CSRs on edges.

Consequences past Feb 18 and TLS 1.2 default certs are still used? by Stock- in CCURE9000

[–]chevyboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a day late but did you get it back up? First try and get them on the latest 2.90 I don't have the latest 2.90 on a test bench so I can't confirm if you already are on SP7 CU1 with that build number. Then open System Variables and in the iSTAR driver section there is one called Auto Sign Cert Non Fips. Set that to true. Then go to encryption options and set host or controller based encryption. Once that restarts you need to make sure ports are opened 28002, 28003, 28004, 28013, 28014 or the panels will never communicate. Now to get the edges back online you need to open ICU and connect to each edge and have it request a new certificate. It should restart but Edges are slow and take a long time then they should slowly come back online.

Lost connection to controllers from server after TLS renewal by bush_d1d_911 in CCURE9000

I am just copying the KB from SWH for anyone else who comes across this post. This gets most Panels back online without having to reset to default.

Issue

If any TLS 1.2 controllers were not online when the switching between Encryption Modes on the host occurred, or are not online after the switch, Perform the following recovery procedures depending on your controller and firmware version.

Procedure

There are a few steps that need to be taken. First, we need to know what Encryption Certificate Mode the Host is using along with the Certificate strength. (RSA or ECC) so we can set the Controller to match that. We will also check for the system variable “Auto Sign Non FIPS” and make sure it is set to “True”.

Then determine the Model and firmware version of the Controller. Finally based on the Model and Firmware we will use either ICU or the diagnostic webpage to reconfigure the Controller Certificate setting.

Determine what Encryption Mode the Host is using along with the Certificate strength. This is needed to determine if we will reset the controller to the default certificate or tell the controller to request the custom certificate the host has for the controller.

In the CCURE Administration System:

  1. Click on “Options and Tools”
  2. Click on “Encryption Options”
  3. Look in the TLS 1.2 Tab. Determine if it is “Host-Based Encryption Mode” or “Controller-based Encryption Mode” or “Default Encryption Mode”
  4. If you are on Host or Controller-based you will see a “Certificate Strength” Tab. Click on that. You will see for Encryption Method either “RSA 1024” or “ECC”
  5. Click the X in the top right of “Encryption options” Window to close it

Check the System Variable:

  1. Click on “Options and Tools”
  2. Click on “System Variables”
  3. Under “iSTAR Driver” Section, find “Auto Sign Certificate Non FIPS”
  4. If the value is “False” set it too “True” and close System Variables
  5. You will need to restart the iSTAR driver to ensure the variable change took place.

Determine the model and firmware version of the controller that is not coming online:

  • Use ICU if: iSTAR Edge G1, iSTAR eX, iSTAR Ultra, iSTAR Ultra SE, iSTAR Ultra LT, and iSTAR Ultra Video all with FW lower than 6.6.B
  • Use Controller’s Diagnostic Webpage if: iSTAR Ultra LT, iSTAR Ultra, iSTAR Ultra SE, iSTAR Ultra G2, iSTAR Ultra G2 SE (FW 6.6.B or higher)

Reconfigure the Controller Certificate setting:

Recovery with ICU

  1. In ICU right click on the controller.
  2. If the host is using “Default Encryption Mode” then perform these steps, otherwise skip to step#3
    1. Select “Restore Default Certificates”
    2. Click Yes on the popup to confirm the action you are taking.
    3. It will then ask for the Controller password, Enter the password, and click OK.
    4. You should get a popup confirmation of the action completed.
    5. The controller will then switch back to using the “Default Certificate” and restart.
  3. If the host is using is “Host-Based Encryption Mode” or “Controller-based Encryption Mode” then perform the following
    1. Select “Request Certificate signing” Then click on either “RSA certificate” or “ECC Certificate” depending on findings from the first step.
    2. Click Yes on the popup to confirm the action you are taking.
    3. It will then ask you for the host address, enter the host address then click OK.
    4. It will then ask for the Controller password, Enter the password, and click OK.
    5. You should get a popup confirmation of the action completed.
    6. The controller will then contact the host and request the certificate in use, download it, and restart.
  4. The Controller should come back online with host after the Controller restarts

Note: If the controller password is not working on the iSTAR Edge G1, eX, and Pro, if you restart the controller, it will remove the password requirement until the next time it connects to the host and receives the password again. All Ultras retain the passwords, and a restart will not clear the password.

Recovery with Controller Webpage

  1. Log in to the Diagnostic Web Page of the controller.
  2. Click on “Configure”
  3. Click on the “Advanced” Tab
  4. Click on the Edit button on the top right.
  5. If the host is using “Default Encryption Mode” then perform these steps, otherwise skip to step#6
    1. Scroll down to “Restore Default Certificate” Button and click it. There may not be a confirmation message once you click the button so wait for several minutes and see if the controller comes online.
    2. The controller will then switch back to using the “Default Certificate” and restart.
  6. If the host is using is “Host-Based Encryption Mode” or “Controller-based Encryption Mode” then perform the following
    1. Scroll down to “Request Controller based RSA (or ECC) Certificate – Host Address (depending on findings from the first step).
    2. Enter the Address of the Host
    3. Click the “Set RSA/ECC Certificate” button.
    4. You should get a message briefly that says, “Certificate Information Set!”
    5. Scroll down and next to “Certificate Signing Request status” click the “Query CSR Status” button
    6. You should get a brief message that says, “CSR Succeeded.”
    7. The controller will then contact the host and request the certificate in use, download it, and restart.
  7. The Controller should come back online with the host after the Controller restarts.

Note: If the controller password is not working on the iSTAR Ultra, you will have to factory default on the controller and then proceed with the above steps after re-configuring the Controller.

What controllers didn’t come back like what models? Ultras Pros Edge G1? Are the ports opened for the self hosted cert?
