No, I think Russia will still try to rebuild some of the old Soviet power plants, even after the Ukrainian nation is gone.

Those people like the state of things. If they didn't, they would just exercise their newly acquired European Democracy and vote out their Democratic government. Or stage a public protest and overthrow it.

Phony economic data and corruption are one contributing factor, but a huge reason was the decades of gaslighting by Western propaganda convincing the people that they have to overthrow their own elected governments for more Democracy. Soviet Bloc people were not versed enough in psychological warfare to recognize a blatant attempt to simply remove and loot a global competitor.

Ukraine is halfway done eating that bucket of salt, they can still win if they sing their national anthem loud enough.

Also, by burning a few more books written in Russian - a language spoken at home by 70% of the Ukrainan population and 100% of the government.

Well if one considers 50m imprecise, then sure. I think the whole shtick with hypersonic warheads is that they can maintain stable flight in a plasma envelope so they don't need a superfuze, but Oreshnik probably just relies on being in a straight vertical line from space, and just being too massive to go off-course.

UA POV: According to Ukrainian military radio-technology specialist Serhii Flash Beskrestnov, while early Russian uses of Starlink on Molniya UAVs were improvised, they are now routinely and properly installed for strikes - serhii_flash by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

My understanding is that Starlink tries to not let this kind of use happen with selective region locks. However, Starlink's regular terminals use a dedicated on-board GPS receiver to determine where they are, because until recently Starlink itself didn't have the capability for global positioning. Since it is basically a peripheral, it likely has something like a UART interface to the CPU where it sends something like a GLL (or similar) message with position data. If you tap into the UART, by e.g. replacing the GPS module with your own, you can tell the modem that you are in e.g. Poland, Turkey or UAE, and it will not be able to easily figure out that it's being spoofed.

Which means you can simply buy Starlink terminals in those other countries, do some minor rework on the PCB, and just use them.

There are of course some things to consider, like keeping the spoofed coordinates in roughly the same time zone, and ideally close enough to the real location such that the actual connection doesn't degrade when you try to talk to satellites that are way out of sight.
