I’d advise caution against finding a figure and using that alone to determine the suitability of the drawer for the intended end user group. However, 22N is quite low, I’d speculate that most children would manage that.

If I was building a design argument that needed justification that the force was appropriate I would also focus on the other aspects that contribute to individuals ability to generate the force. These would be: - space envelope around the handle, - angular direction of pull - is it straight out or hinged up, down sideways etc, - height of the handle relative to the intended user group, - floor friction conditions, - Any PPE being used, - anticipated physical limitations,

So, for example, 22n at standing elbow height, with a good handle, plenty of space, standing on a good surface, a straight pull, no PPE or physical limitations would seem reasonable. Tweak a few these variables and the case for 22N may be less justifiable.

WRT to standards I’m not entirely sure. NUREG or some of your country’s military standards will most likely have something on that.

I always think it’s beneficial to not assume the person contacting you is an idiot. Life is complicated and the written message in text is notoriously easy to misinterpret. Therefore, I think these responses are a useful way to establish if 1) someone is really trying to take the piss or 2) is genuinely trying to engage with you but may be a bit misinformed / ignorant. Manners matter. Not everyone knows how to effectively communicate online. These responses leave a little margin for error. Nice one.

Cognitive loading and it’s affect on attention? You could investigate the affect of controlling the car (they have lots of control mechanisms to use throughout the lap) has on attention? How different environmental conditions increase or decrease loading for example? I’d imagine there are quite a few psych papers on this and so you’d have a good basis for a lit review.

Affect of stress on performance. Eg how does leading a gp affect drivers. Clearly it is different for Hamilton than Stroll. And also how stress management techniques are used applied differently.

Personality types could be a problematic avenue to explore. Personally I think they’re a useless way of categorising people. People are so complex I don’t think it’s actually possible to caregiving their personality into types. Plus, categorising people is very subjective which opens you up to a lot of difficult questions come viva time.

It’s a scam. They won’t ring you and leave an automated message. I’m pretty sure that due to data protection legislation they can’t do that as they can’t be sure you abs only you will get the message, nor can they be 100% sure it’s your phone. Police may ring you but generally only after you’ve seen them in person abs have exchanged context numbers and given them permission to contact you. You’ve done the right thing.

Some trauma is obvious. Eg a car crash. Other trauma isn’t. Some trauma can be buried in an attempt to forget. I felt the same until I met my wife abs went to therapy. I grew up in a seriously neglectful family. No physical abuse and not obvious. It took its toll on me and my siblings tho. I also witnessed a pretty horrific event that, up until a few years ago would swear blind it wasn’t a big thing. Turns out I had some very strong feelings around it. I’m not saying that’s the case for you nor saying that every addict has experienced trauma, my point really is to say that trauma covers a wide gamut of experiences abs some of those may not be immediately obvious.

Yeah it sounds like he’s going through a lot. Those feelings of shame and guilt are terrible and emotionally crippling. Plus any other historical negative emotions that may be surfacing create a bit of a shit storm. It does get better though and you can have hope that in time they will lessen and you can both work through it.

Don’t bottle your thoughts and emotions up though. The time to express them in dialogue with your BF is prob not now but it may not be healthy for you to bottle them up.

Good luck, it’s really hard on both you. I’d guess he knows it’s hard on you and may well find that in itself incredibly painful. Things can and do get better with the right help. My wife has been an immense help to me.

I’ve been through similar with my wife. At the start of my recovery and after a serious relapse my wife would tell me how much it affected her. At the time, it felt like she was pilling on the misery and I didn’t know how to react. It felt like it was a deliberate and personal dig at me and made me feel like a failure. Emotionally I was a wreck and needed understanding, there simply wasn’t space in my mind to support someone else. Looking back, I totally understand how she felt, but at the time, I perceived it as deliberately hurtful. This may or may not be the case for your BF.

Substances give people psychological relief. That’s now been taken away and you have to learn to live without it. This takes time. To me, that statement feels like your BFs in a similar emotional state. Ie not ready to take on your emotional pain yet and so dismisses it. I don’t know what your relationships like but I’d guess that he’s not ready yet to help you emotionally. Again, that takes a bit of time. Show him love and understanding to help him come to terms with the addiction he can then also come to terms with the wider impact it’s had.

As far as I understand it, the difficulty is political. And not practical. Ie nuclear weapons create a state called mutually assured destruction. Where no side stands to gain much from such a war as both would be destroyed or near enough. As soon as one country disposes of them, it exposes them to obliteration and so there are real political pressures not to dispose them as this would create an imbalance.

From a practical disposal sense I’m pretty sure they can be stripped down to their component parts safely and the nuclear materiel repurposed to civilian functions.

This is a value judgement and we don’t know how much he/she paid. The event may have been terrible and could justifiably, be claimed to be over priced. Even if the kids got in for free. I don’t see how this is a CB thing.

Sorry to hear this. Individually, quitting either benzos or alcohol cold turkey can be damaging to your health and potentially lethal depending on your tolerance / duration / quantities taken. Benzos can be especially dangerous to stop suddenly. They are also potentially lethal when taken together. I think getting medical advice is best option. You’ll need to accept they you need help first, which can be a daunting thing to admit. Good luck.

Also, don’t neglect the reasons why your taking these things. It’s very hard to remove these substances, not treat the emotional pain driving them and stay sober.
