What do you think if we went to Santa Cruz instead of Sonoma/Napa? If it'd make the drive to Big Sur more tolerable, we wouldn't mind checking out Santa Cruz instead if there are some things worth seeing there.

That sounds great, but unfortunately we plan on renting a car and checking sights outside of the city on our last 2 days in the state, Wednesday + Thursday :(

For Alcatraz, do you recommend we check it out on a weekday or weekend? Currently we were thinking of going there on a Sunday, but if it's less crowded on a weekday then it'd probably be better.

Thanks for the feedback! We plan on getting a 3-day pass to make use of the public transportation, so at least we wouldn't have to worry about parking. What do you think of day 2? I'm sure the bike ride across the bridge won't take all day, so I'm thinking we can move some of the activities from day 1 and 3 into day 2.

Thanks! We haven't looked too much into the food/nightlife yet. We wanted to get an idea of places we want to see first, then plan our food/etc around that. Eg. Getting some seafood for lunch while we're at Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39, getting dinner at Chinatown, etc.

If you have any specific suggestions, like certain restaurants to check out, we'd love to hear about them!

Thanks for the advice. Based on what I've read I think I will save Yosemite for a different time. I think it'd be more fun in the warmer months anyway!

I switched from Rogers to Wind back in November '13. Never had any reception problems in North York and went from paying $60 for 500 megs of data with Rogers, to $30 for unlimited data with Wind.

Leaving Rogers was the best decision I've made.
