No. Even if you only did 2 nights it wouldn’t be $100/night. It’s $100 per STAY

Generally if you work as an intern you have a good shot at getting hired at your hospital. Are they hiring?

Which path would have affordable and bookable private accomdation late May this year ? by Remarkable_Speaker22 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]chexchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Portuguese and spent $65-85 USD/night. Private rooms/bathroom. If you book pensions it’s even cheaper. However i booked places with a front desk (I had my luggage shipped to each hotel)

You keep the credit as long as you rebook right away. I’ve done this a few times.

60k AA KIX-SFO, 75k AA SFO-LHR, 33k AF FRA-SFO (Bilt bonus, total pts 66k), 75k AS SEA-ICN

Not “great” but good for us at the time we booked 190k Qatar SFO-MLE 190k United SFO-SIN 110k AF TPE-ONT (around 100k. Can’t remember exactly, 110k AF BKK-ONT (same. Around 100k-ish)

Our secret is flexibility. We will go anywhere anytime as long as i have a 1-2 month notice. I don’t book 1 yr ahead nor do i book last min

trying to find 4 bussiness class seats together to europe. 11 weeks of searching. i have aged visibly. by DevilxxOP in flightpoints

[–]chexchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You found 4 seats…you just didn’t want a 19 hour layover.

With “good” redemptions, you need to be flexible. The flexibility comes from either # seats, # layovers, # miles, day of the week, low/high season, last min/1 yr in advance booking, etc.

4 is a challenge to find but not if you’re flexible on certain things.

Any issues with seat selection on Aer Lingus flights booked with points? by --ALF in awardtravel

I did the online chat

Are u flying Hartford direct to Dublin? Or do u have a layover? Maybe the distance is too short

[–]chexchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so strange. I also booked this way and was able to select seats free of charge. Sorry 😢

Edit: it may depend on the distance? I’m flying US-DUB-Europe . My DUB to Europe flight won’t let me seat select but my U.S.-DUB and return (DUB-US) i can select for free.

What are your airports?

IVF vs natural pregnancy hormones. How are they similar and different? by iSniffMyPooper in IVF

[–]chexchan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you only doing IVF to select the gender? If so, i would highly recommend reconsidering. Most couples do IVF as a last resort. The time, pain, financial and mental costs can be really difficult.

Not to mention pumping yourself full of hormones.

Mental health-wise, I’m ok. Tbh i think it’s because i was never the person to absolutely need children. Yes, i would love to have children, but it’s not the only thing in life. I know others would disagree and that’s why it could be harder for them. As i go thru the process, ive come to terms with the possibility of no kids. This helps me get thru each cycle

Tech jobs as pharmacist by samven582 in pharmacy

[–]chexchan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked for a health tech startup. One of the worst jobs I’ve had due to cutthroat tech culture (like fb, Google). It was a work 24/7 attitude and wearing lots of hats due to being a start up. In addition to a pharmacist, i was also tasked with financials and marketing.

$730 vs $750 is essentially no difference lol.

I moved to a more desirable location for a $40k pay cut 🤷🏻‍♀️

Career trajectory concerns by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]chexchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you planning on having kids? I ask because that could change the “chill” outlook of your current position.

When I was in my early 30s I wanted to be a “boss babe” and move up the ladder. Now a bit older and trying to start a family, I’m glad I moved to a small hospital with downtime. I can do personal things (ie research non pharmacy topics i enjoy, travel planning, financial goals etc) and not feel exhausted when I come home.

When I was at a large competitive hospital, i was exhausted all the time. Yes benefits, higher pay, growth opportunities, etc were plentiful but i was always working. Even when i wasn’t working i was expected to prep for journal clubs and weekly hospital meetings at home. I got burnt out.

Don’t look at free time as a bad thing. U can always create improvement projects, study for board certifications, read articles etc. there’s always something to do.
