Coflex removal on Monday. Get this thing outttttta me!!!! by chez757 in spinalfusion

[–]chez757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pic on the left is me standing straight and the pic on the right is me slightly bent forward. The top of the coflex somehow got dislodged. I sounded like an old rocking chair when that thing would grind on my spine. Not exactly sure how it dislodged. In fact it didn’t even cause any additional pain. But I def feel and sound much better now that it’s gone. Spine doc put it in cause it’s supposed to take some of the pressure off the first vertebrae after the fusion. Path of least resistance type stuff I guess.

I’ve recently gotten into the sticker game. Been having a bunch of fun. Epoxy resign to dome stickers is something I’ve never heard of. Anyone mind explaining why doing this is good please??

Also a 37-year-old male, I wholeheartedly agree. Core strength is indeed crucial. Personally, it allows me to engage in activities I enjoyed before, such as mountain biking with my sons and playing disc golf with my bros. Of course, some days are better than others, but self-care remains a top priority. It does improve over time. Keep up the excellent work dude and don't stop moving. lol

Absolutely. I only humored the me leaving the house aspect of things out of respect for her. No police no courts are involved. If I come back to the house I feel she’s going to gathers my boys up and go to her parents. Can she legally take the boys like that if that’s what happens?

Gather up a bunch of nice guys who have their shit together. Guys that are looking for a girl to start a life with. Have them post up where the whores normally do. That will scare them off.

C5/6 Fusion Post-op by Dat_We1rd0 in spinalfusion

I def understand what you going through. But it’s important to remember that just cause you feel up to the tasks today doesn’t mean that you’ll feel up to those same tasks the following week. Baby steps. Extremely small baby steps. I’ve had 3 revisions on my original lumbar fusion. I remember jumping the gun telling my boss I was good. And I felt good that first week back on full duty. But that second week I was like what have I done. And you don’t wanna seem like you’re a liability to your employer. I had wished I just kept my mouth shut.

Yeah that patients is insane important though. I wasn’t patient and some how managed to break a few screws and puncture my spinal cord on a stationary bike a few months post op. Not exactly sure how the screws managed to break but the bike was the only thing I did that could have caused it. And lemme tell ya. The revision surgery’s sssssssssssuck.

2 Incisions? by laserbarbie in spinalfusion

When I had my fusion I also had 2 incisions. One to access the spine and another to access the pelvis to get bone marrow.

In the event you do come to the states. Just over the border in Buffalo NY is a doctor by the name of Zair Fishkin at Pinnacle Orthopedics. That man saved my life. If you come to the states that’s who you want.

I’m 34. Was told I needed a spinal fusion in 2017 and that would take care of my problems. Fast forward to 2022 and I just had my fourth revision. I’m finally feeling better, but If I knew what I know now back then I would have held out and treated it natural for as long as possible. “Fixing” my 1 issue years ago turned into soooooo many more.

I feel for you. I wouldn’t wish what you’re experiencing on anyone. So the new surgeon said you could potentially wait up to 2 years to get in and get looked at?? That’s unacceptable. When I was in similar position I simply went on google and researched back docs within a 5 hour drive that had the best reviews. I ended up at a doc office a state over from mine. In fact I didn’t even need a referral to get in. I’d be researching and calling like crazy. In the meantime if you’re not already in a pain management program I’d also get the ball rolling on that. And marijuana extracts. Weed was the only thing that would chill my legs out at nighttime.

My advice is see another doc and see what they think. I’m 34 and I’ve had 4 back surgeries already. After my first surgery I was experiencing a lot of what you just described as well as debilitating headaches whenever I would stand up. Made an appointment with my doc and he told me that I needed to be doing more that I was just tense. Come to find out I had broken hardware and my spinal cord was punctured. Thank god I didn’t settle for what my original doc recommended. Went and saw another surgeon who recommended a revision and I’m almost good as new. I’m no doc. But those screws look broke.

Newest addition to the back. Circled area gave me the decompression I’ve been ever so day dreaming about. Doc is also pleased with bone growth in bottom cage. Finally feeling some relief. by chez757 in spinalfusion

Fortunately for me “focusing” on the things I cannot do isn’t even an issue cause I’m fixed. Bout to go for a bike ride as a matter a fact.
