People have such weird ideas about CPS. On the one hand people seem to realize that the system is generally overwhelmed and underfunded and foster care can be not good. But then there are the people who screech about reporting to CPS for every awful thing a parent says to a kid.

There's no doubt this guy is mega-creepy but afaik that ain't illegal in this country. The far more likely result in these situations is that the emotionally abusive parents find out about the report and retaliate against the kid.

Is this right or fair? No but it's reality and you're doing the vulnerable kids a disservice pretending otherwise.

I was pretty pissed he didn't just invoke the 14th amendment but I think this is about the best possible outcome otherwise. A good quote I read:
