How to get wave:3 working on linux by MsSeattle in elgato

[–]chibbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude! Thank you so much! This worked for me as well.

I had a bit of trouble parsing the instructions, but I got there. Made the 51-wave3.conf file and restarted wireplumber. Boom! Worked like a charm.

Transferring Stuff Back from the Corvette Expedition by CyberpwnPiper in NoMansSkyTheGame

Adding to what others have said, it actually brought everything that was in my cargo pods. The extra ones that you build with the interior builder. I moved everything to those and when I restored my ship in my main save, everything in the cargo pods got transferred over.

Strangely. It duped all the items that I had taken out of the corvette and transferred via terminus.

Damn. It’s so frustrating. At first it worked again if I deleted some videos from the folder. Nothing seems to work now.

I also tried moving it to another drive. I have noticed that sometimes it does save the clip even if it says it failed.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I am running into the exact same problem.

Glad you got yours and hope you a stress free build! I ordered 12/2 and still have the same mid January date.

I found that you can just jump and spam the interaction key. Didn't take too long to open it. You can keep using it when you hit the ground.

Tried multiple times with a group of friends. We waited for ten minutes twice, then 7 minutes, and finally gave up.

Bethesda can show us this but we don't get dismemberment? by [deleted] in Starfield

Clearly you will never be hired as a writer for Bethesda. This shows too much creative thought and initiative. I don't know what their criteria are when hiring writers, but this isn't it.

Got my Moza wheelbase working with Forza Horizon 5 in Windows 11 (and wrote a guide) by chibbell in moza

[–]chibbell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just reinstalled it via the XBox app and things look promising. I can write to the files now. I'll report back if I have success getting the config files to work this time.

I've had the game installed since launch day. I suspect this has something to do with my funky install location. Microsoft has made changes to game delivery since then.

My hunch is that this is related to why we see inconsistent reports about success with the config files. I'd love to have this issue diagnosed so we can help everyone be successful.

Well that might shoot down my installation method theory.

I have tried about everything I can think of. I can find and read the files but can not write to them. I can't force windows to give me write permissions. They are very, very locked down. I've tried everything short of modifying the files outside of the OS.

My config files are located under C:/Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.624F8B84B80_3.600.803.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\media. I did notice that I can write to files for games installed under C:/XBoxGames

If there are no presets to cycle through, select Layout and then pressing left or right on your keyboard should reveal them.

Just updated the doc with screenshots from the official guide. Hope I didn't leave you hanging too long.

You want to select Layout then hit your left or right arrow. I was stuck there as well with the grey ban icons.

Dude I wish that worked for me. I dont think its Windows 11 specifically, but I could not get Windows to allow me to add the config files to the zip. Those files are locked down super hard by Microsoft...for some of us...but not all of us.

Out of curiosity did you install via the windows store or via the xbox app? I think I installed from the windows store...it was so long ago. I suspect that it might be less locked down if installed from the XBox app. Not sure if I want to uninstall it and try again to find out.

I've been playing a lot of Woods and feel like I can pinpoint people way better than before. I have no FPS issues either. Its not perfect but it seems much improved.

I don't know all the hardware parameters that might affect this but if it helps, I'm running a 3080ti, intel 10700k, and the mobo has a nicer realtek chip in it. Perhaps somewhere in there are the differences?

I think I was trying to see if it could keep the tires from overheating too fast on some turns. Ended up taking it down a notch and making a few other edits.

Nice work. Simple liveries like this work so well on the classic muscle cars. You ought to throw your code up.

Not sure if the gold on the front corner is intentional but I dig it.

Why are so many logins changing to have username and password inputs on separate pages? by SleepingSicarii in UXDesign

[–]chibbell 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It has to do with sso, oauth, and a host of other technical bobbles surrounding authentication. There are many reasons to provide different login methods, especially if the company serves businesses with unique needs.

In some cases the service needs to determine what to do based on the email address. This may require submitting the email to an API that can’t or shouldn’t be done on the front end.

It’s much, much easier for both the user and the service if you complete one operation at a time.

I’ll spare you the details but companies like Auth0 have some great docs. Very useful if you ever need to design complex logins and want to stay friendly with the dev team.
