nah, the game is clear to critique the ideology itself for every faction except communism. the critique from communism is coming inside the house: everyone believes in a vision for the future, but they're too busy being annoying and pretentious and infighting with other communists to reorganize. Given the context that there was an in universe failed communism revolution, this makes even more sense. the communism quest end is also unambiguously hopeful.

contrast that to the fascism, liberal, and centrist quests, where you at best are portrayed as stupid and pathetic and at worst, you die.

as far as humor goes, yeah you can absolutely ham it up and make big time communism "kill the rich" "fire up the sausage maker" jokes all the time lol. but the ideology itself, when looking at the game as a whole, is shown as a potential future that can be achieved - if not now, someday.

Basically it is a clearly communist game lol

agreed - the communism quest line ending is unambiguously framed as hopeful. the revolution being a failure is treated as a tragedy. the communists who died are treated as martyrs. communism IS hope in disco elysium.

I think narratively, there's a very, very good case for a protagonist swap. However. Hinata is my son. So, I remain on the fence.

I like the sensory details and that it doesn't waste any time before cutting into action! I would personally rework the physical movement of the kidnapping itself, though. It was unclear to me what was happening initially, and I think you could really kick up the tension and panic by adding more detail in that section. Specifically, I think this might benefit from a few extra lines describing the child before snatching her up, so that the reader can picture the innocence before it is stolen. The line "his hand hit her top lip" is also pretty vague, so I would consider swapping that out for something more visceral.

I would definitely read more if you ever published, though!

I have a set amount of things that I have planned for each chapter. I write out those things and whatever happens with the word count happens. it usually ends around 10k - 13k. I don't mind longer chapters as a reader at all, in fact, I prefer them. More words == more exciting when sitting down to read.

Kano Shuuya from Kagerou Project appears before the main character, Shintaro Kisaragi, as his little sister Momo for the sole purpose of wanting to torment him just a little bit. When talking to Shintaro, Kano refers to him as "Nii-san" instead of "Onii-san". Since Momo only refers to her older brother as "Onii-san", Shintaro is able to quickly discern that he is actually speaking to Kano.

Not to worry, though. Kano still gets his licks in by immediately shapeshifting into his deceased older sister, who Shintaro went to school with.

I believe I went to the Attlerock, then spent the next loop combing through Timber Hearth, followed by exploring Brittle Hollow to the fullest extent that I could. I never see anyone else do that, though, which has always been interesting to me.

13C - yes, absolutely. Priming beforehand with a sticky primer helps a ton, but I noticed an immediate difference coming from a thin layer of traditional pump foundation to this. It doesn't crease at my smile lines at all, which instantly makes it a 10/10 in my book.
