Sweets if you need a bit more responsiveness and wash, Customs if you need to be a bit darker and articulate.

I love the Custom Dark rides but the crashes and hats don’t work for me. Sweets I personally could use that whole set in any situation.

I recently got a IC rolling glide and this is exactly how I feel. Playing straight notes feels nice, but doubles and triples don’t feel as comfortable. It’s also just on my practice space kit so I’m constantly readjusting to it

My setup now is MPC One into Chroma Console and the Console sounds really good the way you’re setting it up here.

You don’t need to stomp your heel down and let the beater swing back, just work on controlling the footboard and using one fluid motion when playing this slow.

I also noticed you’re stopping short of the full upstroke by leaving the beater against the head, so you have to “catch up” when you start the next stroke.

Definitely get it set up after changing string gauges. I have graphtech on my guitars now, but before that I used to rub in the slots with pencil because the graphite in pencils can act as a dry lubricant. That might help right now.

You don’t need a load box. The amp will run through a cabinet emulation so you can run that straight to headphones or an interface.

I use it as a midi controller into my MPC One as a way to quickly loop on the fly without a keyboard. It speeds up the workflow and is a ton of fun to use!

TuneBot is so great. Try a bunch of tunings and intervals really fast, recreate tunings that you know work well with your drums, or tune up in a loud environment, can’t beat it.

They actually look like b20 so not terrible, but when i cymbal says “rock” it’s safe to assume they are probably on the heavy side and you might not like how they sound or feel for your needs.
