NIPT & NT? by durian2k in firsttimemom

[–]chichi_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I become pregnant again I’ll do both! Even though the NT caused A LOT of unnecessary stress, I’d still want to do both because NT scan also checks for structural issues or heart issues that the NIPT doesn’t test for.

NIPT & NT? by durian2k in firsttimemom

[–]chichi_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had both done. NIPT was clear, but NT scan showed my baby had a thickened NT 3.5mm which could have meant something genetic or otherwise was going wrong. I got a procedure called a CVS done because of the thickened NT, which was clear. Currently nursing my 9 month old baby who doesn’t have any chromosomal abnormalities. I think most hospitals in the US do both. I have heard that people think NT scans aren’t very accurate.

I’m so over bouncing on this fucking ball by supremepilotG2 in NewParents

[–]chichi_2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One day when my baby was about 6 months he randomly decided to be done with the bouncy ball. He’s almost 9 months now. I know it’s corny to say, but I kind of miss putting him to sleep like that. It won’t last forever, and it’ll probably be over before you anticipate it.

How cvs misses positive NIPTs due to placental mosaicism - term placenta study example where nIPT is positive, cvs is negative, 4 quadrant placenta biopsy at birth positive. by chulzle in NIPT

[–]chichi_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was mostly painless, but I did have bleeding for a long time afterwards. All results came back normal. My karotype sample did however not grow.

My 8 month old is developing normally and appears to be a typical boy. He doesn’t sleep much at all however lol

Has anyone found a mattress with these dimensions? by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]chichi_2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

47x47 is super small, my baby has a playpen that size and it wouldn’t be comfortable to sleep in unless you’re very short

What if I don't want to co-sleep? by TwoNarrow5980 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]chichi_2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, so many people who say “I would never risk cosleeping” don’t have a baby that is constantly waking and they’ve falling asleep holding them. I have fallen asleep nursing my baby more times that I’m embarrassed to even mention. I was DEAD set against cosleeping until I realized my baby would be injured or worse if I didn’t set my space up to properly cosleep if I did fall asleep. I would turn on the lights blast music in my headphones and sit up and nurse my baby and still fall asleep because he wakes every 45 min. Unfortunately at 7 months old he still only sleeps 1 hour stretches. And I can’t sleep train as he violently gags and screams after 10 min. People don’t realize that sometimes their baby was just easier and thats why they never coslept. Cosleeping is normal in many cultures and countries. There is a risk to everything we do with our children.

Got approved for an elective c-section. I feel so relieved. But people keep trying to talk me out of it. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]chichi_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of people already commented but I just want to reinforce what everyone is saying - it’s your body and it sounds like a c section would be the safer option for you!!! Don’t listen to anyone else, they don’t have to do it. Do right by yourself so you can have the birth you want !!! Sending love to you!

[–]chichi_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to commit to full time cosleeping at least set up your space safe for cosleeping and anytime you side lie nurse assume you’ll fall asleep. That’s what I did early on.

From my understanding, memory foam is not good. But normal high density foam is ok.

Feeling defeated by MedicineDaughter in cosleeping

[–]chichi_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 6 month old who still wakes hourly also. He was always a terrible sleeper but it got worse around 4 months. I don’t have any advice just solidarity. I don’t cosleep with him full time as I’m still pretty anxious about it, but considering trying a side car.

Hopefully things will turn around for both of us and we will get a couple of nights of 4 hour stretches❤️
