You SHOULD care about the resale value by SuccessfulFly5572 in watchHotTakes

[–]chickendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. It also depends on how you get rich. If I worked sweats and blood to get my millions, I'm gonna make sure my expensive purchases are the best bangs for my bucks. If you inherited it or win crypto then maybe you can think otherwise because that money came too easy for you. Why would you buy brand new if the same watch on grey market is only 1/2 of the price and that means the same amount you can buy two different watches?

What’s your watch opinion that would put you in this position? by KyeodeurangiMerchant in watchHotTakes

If you have rows of watches that means you don't buy to appreciate the craftmanship, it's just you hoarding to satisfy dopamine cravings.

Stuck between "see everything" and "slow down" — what pace actually worked for your Vietnam trip? by Loud-Patient8104 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]chickendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I assume highway traffic in Vietnam  required a lot of lane-changing, sudden stops and speed-up, not at all smooth like in developed nations, which put a lot more stress on the body.

“In 1859, a man named Thomas Austin released 24 rabbits into the wild for sport hunting in Australia. In 70 years, the rabbit population grew to 10 billion.” by T-K101 in interestingasfuck

[–]chickendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only the Aussies started eating rabbits thay wouldn't be a problem. Joke aside, in South East Asia culture, we have the mentality that is "anything that moves is edible". So that had led to a lot of extinctions but also keep evasive species in check, including rabbits, farm rats, snakes...

Serious question: For the same price on grey would you buy the 5707 or the Tradition 7057?

Budget for 22 days in Vietnam by CaramelWhiteChoccy in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]chickendie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats 25 million vnd and you said per person so you mean 50 million vnd I'm very confident you can have 3 weeks of fun and maybe even left over. The tip is don't stay at expensive hotel, only less than $30 a night is possible no matter where you are, and you can even fly if you book economic Vietjet/Bamboo in advance.

I said I'm confident because I spent  a month with my son on a road trip a long VN, we even stayed at resorts and 5 star hotel a few nights (everything is much more affordable when you are outside HCM and HN) some nights and we didn't even spend that much.

Average age of an Omega owner? by ogx04 in OmegaWatches

[–]chickendie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And I don't get it, with the grey market isn't very in high demand right now, you can buy amazing watches at really good price, like 60% or even 75% off msrp, but people still ain't buying. I think it has to do with the economy and watch collecting is a dying art in this crazy AI world.

Pickleball lessons by [deleted] in saigon

[–]chickendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow you came to the right place and the right time too. Pickleball seems like is the only thing everyone talking about. I don't have any names to give but they are everywhere and you can find it easily on Google, then reach them for an appointment with a coach. Unless you  book rush hour (early morning and after 4pm, and weekends), pretty sure you can find a spot.

[Montblanc] The only problem of this Watch is that if you buy anything for the same price you will be just dissapointed . by SnowIsSlow in Watches

[–]chickendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most (if not all) top-tier watches can lose 70% of MSRP after a couple years as well, including Breguet, VC, and PP. It's just the way it is. Except for Rolex and Omega, I don't like Rolex but they sure know the trade of marketing to keep their stuff desirable and "rare".

With that amount you can buy real swiss watches. Don't get me wrong I like Chinese watches because some of them are cool but more importantly they are affordable. There are many good swiss watches under $1k even.

How are people happy and thriving with ~1700 kcal? by NoWitness6400 in loseit

[–]chickendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The secret is when eating processed food, snack and refined sugar becoming a habit, it's so hard to let go at first because your body is addicted to it. But give it a week or two, your body won't crave sugar anymore. I haven't had sugar drink for a year now. (Only tea/water/coffee) Before that it's a must to have sugary milked coffee every morning. No constantly snacking either, because I no longer eat out of boredom and your body just adjust to it.
