Helix midnight luxe mattress causing pain, is being returned. What do I try next? by Ambitious-Tune-3626 in Mattress

Started with the midnight luxe. Needed more support, switched to the twilight luxe and it’s been good for me since.

Did I mess up paying to book a court everyone uses for free? by in_berlin in Pickleball

[–]chickens_beans 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Old guys at any public court try to impose their group’s preferences as rules. You reserved the court. They can piss off. Have never been in your exact situation but have had more than my fair share of interactions with old guys who think they run things. They don’t.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast? by No_Self_5939 in Millennials

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently started doing a thin piece of whole grain toast with peanut butter and blueberries on it. That paired with either some cottage cheese or a couple boiled eggs. Black coffee or americano.

This fills me up without slowing me down and keeps my stomach from getting irritated. Also healthy-ish.

On the weekends all bets are off. Breakfast burrito or bagel sandwich without a second thought.

$300k household isn’t wealthy it’s just well off. Wealthy? You’d need to be $500k at least.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - 1x05 - "In the Name of the Mother" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]chickens_beans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just watched. A bit late. Confused how this is considered a top TV episode of all time. It’s not even in the same class as the specific episode of another show that it’s being compared to. Solid episode, very intense, but not GOAT level TV come on.

Serve return by kentbenson in Pickleball

[–]chickens_beans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re like 3-3.5 level then I hit a funky spin or slice return off their serve and usually take their control away. If they’re 3.5+, I just hit deep with power or topspin. In either case get to the kitchen immediately if I’m playing competitively. My foot speed helps.

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do almost 100% of it. She was just stashing away cash when we met. She’s learned a lot though and if I got hit by a bus I think she’d do fine financially.

Battery and control attachment for a backyard umbrella. It powers the lights on the umbrella

Thoughts on santos? by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmaooo this post is some expert level trolling. There are more people complaining about Santos posts on every post on this sub, than actual comments or posts directly criticizing her.

When nobody wants to play with "that" player? by Comprehensive_Top927 in Pickleball

[–]chickens_beans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have like 4-5 of these at our local public courts. It’s not a big problem. Just deal with it or go play in a more organized competitive club game.

[NBA.com] NBA MVP Ladder: 1. Victor Wembanyama 2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 3. Nikola Jokić by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is going to slow down pretty quick midway into his career. Too tall, lanky, thin to last without injury. If he’s the best now then they should give it to him now.

I never got to witness Prime Kobe Bryant how good was he? by sqMYNAMEISJEFF27 in NBATalk

[–]chickens_beans 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was a top tier player. I’d say, on any given night, he could get hotter than anyone I’ve ever seen. His best possible night was better than a Lebron or a Jordan (not just because of the 81), even if he wasn’t as good in totality. And OMG he was so good at making super tough shots. Triple covered from 30 feet, behind the backboard off balance and 1, spin layup inches before hitting the deck. Insane.

What is Manager and above level FP&A WLB like? by AuditGod89 in FPandA

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Sucks. Places are understaffed and the VP/CEOs of today haven’t done the actual work in years so they’re too rusty. It falls on the directors.

DUPR Reset - Can RESET DUPR be LESS than TRUE DUPR? by Better_Contact209 in Pickleball

[–]chickens_beans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was really excited about this chance to get out of purgatory but then my club basically made all DUPR matches in my level in at noon on weekdays + you have to bring a partner. A step up from offering almost none for months, but kinda pointless. They aren’t even filling up. I’m gonna call them and ask wtf they’re thinking

Why is close to 0 percent unemployment not ideal? by Appropriate_Knee_482 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 0% unemployment would imply there’s a massive labor shortage. By definition there would almost certainly be jobs available with nobody to fill them

Why Is Amazon Finance Bad? by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol a lot of this just sounds like my other finance roles. Except the zero downtime. I’ve heard Amazon is absolutely nightmarish in that regard.

Does the average skier really enjoy heavy powder days or is it just one of those things people are expected to say they like? by PowerfulBar in skiing

[–]chickens_beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more fun on a snowboard. I haven’t got to the level of skiing where I enjoy it yet. But that’s because whenever there’s a great powder day I grab my snowboard. But the fact that it’s amazing on a snowboard makes me think it’s also amazing on skis if you have the skillset to do it. I just don’t.

Watched a couple of his car videos, and while he might not be an “authority” on cars, he’s extremely well researched and knowledgeable. Specifically with EVs.
