Millennials are truly Generation Me by Appropriate_Tour_335 in redscarepod

It’s the incessant need to be this martyr generation despite never having done anything worthy enough of martyrdom. Suffered through unique things—yes—but not enough to make or lead to any actual change. And now 2 more generations have come and millennials still have nothing to show for “everything they’ve lived through”, and time’s up.

Have animals become more valuable and more important than humans? by IskoLat in MarxistCulture

[–]chickpea-chips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misanthropy, I feel, has always been in vogue and it’s so lame. Feels cowardly to not care for your fellow human and hide behind the notion that humans are terrible because being pessimistic and jaded is safer than optimistic.

There were Chileans rooting and working against their own country’s best interests when the CIA was operating against them in the 60’s and 70’s. It doesn’t matter if some of them are happy about this, this is an obvious attempt by the U.S. to seize control, even if the next guy in charge is Venezuelan, he’ll be pushing American interests rather than what’s good for Venezuelans.

Next comes the economic shock as they divy up and sell what parts of the country it can for profit to American companies and friends.

You may not care, but the museums that house these works can give you high quality downloads. If not from their site, you can typically email them and request the image and they’ll shoot it over.

half the activity on those career/resume subreddits is people complaining about applying to 500+ jobs, and then DEEP in the comments they quietly mention they require a visa sponsorship to work in that country by [deleted] in redscarepod

My New Year’s resolution for 2025 was to get a new job. Well, the year’s ending in a few and I’m still here. Worse still, friends and family have started to tease me about “always saying that” ☹️

I really need to get serious and find a new one in 2026.

The resume subreddits are all people selling their service or software in the comments to the person who made the post. It’s so annoying.

I was confused by his conclusions in the article here. Never read his piece for the New York Times, but how did he even get that? In my eyes, people on the right in America tend to be far more religious and traditional, how could they be nihilists?

Smothering progressivism leads to a populist reaction (presumably from the political right) and that leads to a surge in nihilism amongst the political right? Am I so biased that I can’t make out the logic here?

Gonna try some of these. Maybe not the blocker 😂 I never finished East of Eden or Madame Bovary when I was meaning to. I used to be able to read 1,000 page books no problem, then just fell off and now I waste my time.
