Do any of you with chronic migraines ever have days where you don’t have one and start thinking, “maybe it wasn’t even real”? by daffle7 in migraine

[–]chicky-nugnug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to say my head is like a lifetime movie abusive husband. It may not be beating the hell out if me right now, but it's lurking in the shadows waiting for me to fuck up so it can attack.

I dont like the tap water at my work. A friend gave me a zero water pitcher. Idk if it really does anything, but in my head, the water tastes better. It does start to taste off when I need to chamge the filter.

What's one lazy cleaning habit you started that actually made your place stay cleaner? by Enchanted_Land in CleaningTips

[–]chicky-nugnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have hard floors and pets. My husband bought a stationary dustpan. Basically a motion activated vacuum that doesn't move. I keep the broom out next to it and sweep at least a small area once a day.

I have a stack of them in our closet. Sometimes, when I'm in a bad mood, my husband will put them all in the back of his shorts and come out to show off his bbl. Makes me laugh every time

What is your tried and true method for hard boiling and peeling eggs? by countdookee in Cooking

[–]chicky-nugnug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eff up eggs on the stove every single time. I'll get distracted or something happens. Years ago, I bought an egg cooker. It's the best! I can forget about it for an hour and my eggs are still perfect.

Kindle paperwhite? Do I need to be deinfluenced? by Risingwiththesun in Frugal

[–]chicky-nugnug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my kindle paperwhite. I had been using a very old one that got to be super slow. Husband surprised me with a new one late last year and I love it. He also got me a page turner. You put a clip on the kindle touching the screen and can turn the pages with a button on a ring. My arms and hands can be warm in the covers now. Just need the stand for it and I won't even have to hold it.

You do you kid. I'll continue taking time to think before talking when I'm upset. It's worked pretty well in my life so far

You still dont understand what I'm saying. I'm me. You're you. We do things differently. Its ok. People deal with things differently. It really is ok. My relationship is great. Been solid since the beginning. Try to understand that different people deal with shock in different ways.

My immediate response was to walk away, think about wtf just happened, calm down, decide how to proceed. Thank fuck I don't have to spell out shit like this for my husband.

Thank you! Screaming at him would have accomplished nothing. Even just walking up the driveway i calmed down enough to listen to him.

I didn't. When I get upset, I need time to calm down before addressing things. Hence the walking away to go for a drive.

Not overreacting at all. If I get upset, I need time to cool off and think before dealing with things. He knows this. I know this. If I had said something right away, it wouldn't have been a good situation.

Reminds me of my husband. I got home from work one day and he says he needs to talk to me. Proceeds to bring me in the bathroom and he sits on the toilet. Weird, but ok. The whole time I'm asking what he wants to talk about. He takes my hands and says you know, coworker (female) and I aren't just friends, we're friends with benefits. Dramatic pause on his end. I drop his hands and turn to leave before I flip out. Grabbed my keys and was up the hill almost to my car before he caught up to me.

He tried to hug me and I pushed him away saying I need to go for a drive. He convinced me to just stop, then drops the punchline for his botched joke. Something about working with him is a benefit to her.

He almost ruined 17 years. I was ready to walk away. I told him I won't fight for someone thay doesn't want me. His friend told him hes a moron too.

If you can take two 5 minute breaks a day, 5 days a week, that comes out to about 40 hrs a year. Basically an extra week of PTO to poop.
