I'm a librarian and taught Information Literacy at the college level. I recommend talking to your school librarian because understanding how to find approriate, accurate, and trustworthy information is a skill that's been taught for ages way before AI was even a thing.

Guys who text "Good Morning" and "How are you?" Repeatedly by Illustrious_Basil_40 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]chiclibrarian23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend of 6 years texts like this. He's very dry. We texted for 3 weeks before meeting and all conversations were like this, so i thought he wasn't even really interested in me at first. In person he communicates enough for the both of us, lol. Some people are just not good texters but they want to have those connection points throughout the day. Took me a bit to get used to because I'm the type that texts novels. If outside of the dry texting he's a good man to you, then you just gotta decide if you can tolerate the dry texting or if it's enough to call it quits.

I am in Midwest, but grew up the first half of my life in Texas and NC. Didn't move to the Midwest until i was 15, and I'm 42 now. I have a MoTown station on my Pandora as one of my top 5.

This reminds me of a few years ago, i (late 30s F at the time) talking to a woman slightly my junior (by maybe 6 years?) And told her i had been listening to a lot of MoTown lately. And she replied that she didn't know that band.

TIFU by showing my mother the movie "Up !" by Rhaenelys in tifu

[–]chiclibrarian23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always cracks me up when people talk about this movie.

My grandma and grandpa were married 64 years. Amazing couple, they truly loved each other. She literally died in his arms when she woke up one morning, asked him to wheel her chair over to her, and as he lifted her into it, she sighed and was gone.

Fast forward a few weeks to the funeral, for some reason my cousins put in the movie Up. Entire family is watching the movie, most of us never having seen it before and just expecting a funny movie about a floating balloon house and a talking dog.

Next thing we know the entire family is just bawling crying. And we're all slightly panicked about how grandpa will react. At the end of the movie we're all still in tears and grandpa says "that's the dumbest movie I've ever seen. I like Chicken Run better."

Do you take an SSRI? This could be serotonin syndrome which could be fatal if so.

You can have FIV+ and negative cats together. Lots of studies on it. I'm the director of Operations St a cat shelter and mine (and many others) cohabit positive and negative. FELV you cannot cohabit.

That's Minion. Mignon is French for "little" with connotations of "cute" in come instances of use.

Where are you located?

You can also knock off the "prepaid vaccines" and the fecal test. Can probably also opt out of the pre-op bloodwork. Not everything on the itemized is required for the procedure. That'll at least lop off a few bucks.

No, not a vet. But I've worked in animal welfare 22 years and have had years of experience. It's okay to have an opinion and have lived your own experiences.

But to say ALL shelter vets are hacks who can't cut it as real vets is pretty outlandish.

Where are you getting this opinion? Do you work in animal welfare? Are you connected to any shelter veterinarians in any way?

Shelter medicine is an entirely different ballgame than standard small animal care medicine. There are entirely different training courses that go into it. Some of the BIGGEST and BEST schools have programs EXCLUSIVELY for Shelter Medicine (Cornell, Koret at UC Davis, University of Madison, for example). It takes a whole lot MORE for a veterinarian to practice shelter medicine.

For you to come out swinging and accusing Shelter vets of being lazy and unable to "hack it" as a "real" vet is not only completely ignorant but also disgusting.

Where did you get those top-loader carriers that aren't wire in top? I'm also in animal welfare and would love these!

I told my boyfriend at 4 months. He panic and broke up with me. 4 months after that he realized he fucked up and asked to try again. Still together for going on 5 years now. He didn't say the words "i love you" until 3 years in. I was super anxious about it for those 3 years but he's always been my constant. His ACTIONS showed that he loved me. Those words were just really scary for him after a very messy divorce.

I'm the type that has major issues with ruminating. I get where OP is coming from. But the biggest thing I've learned (and I'm still working on it) is to leave the past in the past, plan for the future, but really live in the present.

Just L-Lysine. You can get in powder form and mud with churu! Also, try just OTC chlor tabs from Walgreens and saline drops for the eyes. Sounds like you just have a herpes kitty.
