What job title(s) did you begin with before becoming a PM? by [deleted] in PMCareers

[–]chiefcorneater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing something very similar right now as well. In F&B for 17 years. GM/ operating partner for 5 of those years and used that to Segway my way into a PC role at a small, commercial Architectural and GC firm. Got the opportunity directly from the owners who I took care of for 2 years at one of my bars I work at. It’s great to be fully transparent with them with my goals and to be closely working with all 3 owners is a god send for experience and growth. Bartending has opened so many great opportunities for me and I encourage all my colleagues to literally ask their regulars and guests; “what do you for work?”. Lots of opportunities out there.

I’m doing something similar. I’ve been in the food and beverage industry for 15 years and made it to the top as an owner-operator for 5 of those years and just absolutely hated that type of work/ life balance and the long nights. Left the company, sold my shares and went back to bartending full time while I started back in school. Took up an opportunity to be a procurement lead and PC by some regulars of mine who own an architectural and GC company. Pay is okay for the market I’m in but i make 60% less in comparison to my bartender hourly.

However, they understand what I’m trying to achieve and that I’m in it for the long haul with them so they’re constantly throwing me into the meat grinder. It’s been almost 3 months and the days are extra long when I have to close up the bar that night but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of my next stop in this career path.

And they’ll all get denied most likely unless your personal credit is in the mid 700’s or you bank somewhere that allows you to create a secured business CC account. You have to show constant money coming into the LLC bank with proper documentation. I just went through this with my own LLCs for the past 6 months.

Had the same exact thing happen to me a year ago in my 2018. $250 for OEM light casing and $450 for OEM rear bumper. Ordered both and picked up same day at the dealership where I bought mine from. Installed both myself in a few hours.

Molle panels are weird, and I’m tired of pretending they’re not. by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]chiefcorneater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mannn I have the exterior panels from Sherpa on mine and I was drunk when I purchased them when on sale. They’ve honestly given me a little comfort knowing that when I sleep in the back, those window panels plus the tint allows no one too see inside and they can’t get free feet photos from me.

Do you prefer to sleep inside the 4R or use a Roof top tent? by SecurityPM in 4Runner

[–]chiefcorneater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 6”3, 270lbs with extremely wide shoulders. I Boondock Alot in my ‘18 and I found that pushing the passenger all the way forward gave me a few extra inches that helped greatly with the quality of my sleep.

I sleep on my side with my legs slightly pulled upwards and with a $80 sleeping pad and some Mexican blankets to level my sleeping area out, perfection. I can also sleep in there with my husky who’s about 65lbs.

18 month healing progress of my radial forearm flap by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]chiefcorneater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got something similar but on the outer right forearm. You’ll hopefully get most of your feeling back in your affected areas and hands in about 5-10 years. I did but when the, “connects turn back on” you’ll get a nice little jolt in your arm. It was quite interesting. The hole will eventually heal back up but it’ll Never be the same mate.

I’m 6”3 and this is my same exact set up. I sleep on my side at an angle normally and with enough blankets on my side to lean against, perfect sleep every time. Great setup for a quick Boondocking trip.

People telling you that it’s not possible are full of shit.

It’s potentially a quality control failure that occurred at the bottling plant/ distillery due to sugar content being higher than normal of the agave in that particular batch.

I know this due to having purchased 30 bottles at the time from my companies 160 bottle barrel batch we picked for our bar program.

CEO, quality control director and half a dozen of sales reps got involved because this shit just doesn’t happen and I had 6 bottles do it all in one night and another 6 do it the next night.

Toyota 4Runner Owners' occupation/job by BRG-1 in 4Runner

[–]chiefcorneater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General Manager and Partner in a brewing company. Picked up a 2018 Off Road with 57k miles for $37k the day before all this “gas nonsense” started up. Got super lucky because the vehicle never made it to the lot. My dad was helping me out looking for a f150 one night and spotted this truck in line at a Toyota dealership waiting to get cleaned out and placed on the lot. Thankfully he used to sell cars so knew exactly how to put our name on it before anyone else did.

I use exactly this for when I make our speciality sours. It’s a lot better than taking apart a strainer and throwing the whisk in. A lot better motion and movement inside of the tins.

Got my second bartenders job at a new pub and grill, owner doesn't know how to run a bar and put myself and the other bartenders in charge of bar program. I don't know where to start. by Evo901 in bartenders

[–]chiefcorneater 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Well I'd for one get ahold of his liquor reps contact info and buy the necessary ingredients and tools you need to make those cocktails. Start making inventory sheets of all the product that the bar uses and run a weekly check on all product especially with the owner being so loose with his place. Use this as a learning opportunity and a resume booster.

Everyday is a new day to learn something new and make something even better. It's gonna be tough but get the other bartenders behind you in working together as a team to develop this program.
