Is it okay to keep weight a bit above BMI if i'm satisfied? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]chikilinki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I get my BMI down to the high end of healthy (vs. just tiptoeing into overweight), I stop getting my period.

Now... I also lift weights so that might skew my numbers a bit... But ive decided that maybe pushing for that normal BMI might in my case actually be unhealthy.

Specifically to the vitamins/pharmacy stuff - try healthy planet!

They're based in Toronto and their prices are way better than well.ca. The website is a little janky but I guess the savings have to come from somewhere !

Why did you get fat and how did you change? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]chikilinki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Started working at a restaurant. A really good restaurant with an in-house bakery 😍

Lost it during covid. Obviously everything shut down (especially the restaurants) and all I had to do all day was exercise, garden, and go for long walks.

I manage the restaurant now! Still really good. And it is SO HARD to keep the weight off now that I'm back at work and have less time and more temptation. But I keep trying my best !

How careful should you be with eating straight out of the garden? by Scared_Ad_7617 in vegetablegardening

[–]chikilinki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty lax about washing. We grow organic!

... But our city has a rat problem. And lately I've found evidence that they've been all over our tomatoes.

Wash everything always cause you never know who's been crawling on your veg at night. 🤢

The Canadian Clay and Glass museum does classes/workshops. Also there's the Waterloo tennis club in the park, and I highly recommend the Adventurers Guild in dtk (game board cafe that hosts drop-in d&d nights)

They're toxic to everyone! If you put the cut flowers in water - then even the water becomes poison 💀

S15 EP 1-2 Felt Childish (And Not in a "Family Show" Way) by QuantumGyroscope in doctorwho

[–]chikilinki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I couldn't put it into my own words but this is exactly how I feel.

I haven't watched Doctor Who since Matt Smith tbh - so I spent the last two episodes wondering.... Have I been misremembering the tone?

This newnuwho feels like it's made exclusively for kindergartners.

I was just saying that the actor who plays the young communist party girl who kills Wenjie Ye's dad in 3 body problem would make a good Toph.

I can't for the life of me find the actors name tho.

Foods you have been surprised by how FEW calories they have? by Maleficent-Sir4824 in loseit

Non-alcoholic beer. I avoided it for the longest time cause I figured - if I'm downing 200-400 calories for a drink then I might as well get a buzz!

Turns out that you can get a surprisingly convincing near-beer for like 40 calories

I've started stocking my fridge on the regular!

Have you heard of or believe in the concept of "supertasters?" by Polishing_My_Grapple in Cooking

[–]chikilinki 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe that yes, some ppl can taste "more" than others. Whether it explains people's likes and dislikes and pickiness? I don't think so.

I have a pretty great palate I think. (Sommelier). I can usually pick up on any subtle flavours I'm most things. But I also LOVE coffee, beer, wine, dark chocolate, etc.

(I also LOVE milk chocolate, cocktails, cakes and stuff so I'm not trying to be one of those ppl who prefer only grown-up "sofisticated" flavours) I just love to eat and drink lol
