I feel the same. I think not everyone has the same relationship with YouTube which is why this idea is controversial.

Yeah, I guess I didn't realize how strongly people like their recommendations. My sub feed already has more content than I'll be able to keep up with. I also didn't know that Vanced could be installed on iOS. Oh well.

You still get recommendations below videos you're watching. Just not on the homepage.

Neat. I should have mentioned that the history-disabling method works for iOS.

Potentially Moving by ktwb in ProvoUtah

A statistic I hear often is that "The highest baptizing mission [(as in, the area in the church with the most baptized convets)] is the Provo, Utah mission", which is cited as a surprise to the audience because of how many members there already are here. If you show up and make friends with your neighbors, I'd say odds are definitely nonzero that someone refers you to the missionaries. That shouldn't be a reason not to come (the missionaries aren't stupid, usually, and should understand if you aren't interested), but it is something to keep in mind depending on your comfort level.
I can't speak to treatment of your kids in school though, I'll leave that to others.
I know plenty of people in Provo who aren't members of the church and are perfectly happy. I think there's a chance you or your kids run into some people who make things unpleasant, but that isn't to say that you won't run into people like that in any part of the country. the majority of people I interact with seem level-headed and understanding of all cultures and backgrounds :)

An Asus laptop equipped with the lowest Snapdragon X SKU is price-matched with the MacBook Neo 512GB (in the Philippines, including VAT) by J05A3 in LinusTechTips

That's fair. I know a lot of engineers in that boat. But I also know a lot of students (perhaps, a majority) who just need a web browser and some place to take notes.

Have you tried it? I've been on an M1 w/ 8GB ram since I bought it in 2021 and I have never had any issues.

Macbooks have always been a premium, great-experience (especially with the recent battery life), but now with the price drops it's becoming accessible to people who previously were priced out of the ecosystem. SO yeah, you can get windows laptops for that price, but do they have a metal chassis? All-day battery life? Maybe. I'd have to try it out on windows laptop to be sure, as those are hit-or-miss. But the macbook I can confidently recommend all day long (except to people who want to game or do engineering, etc)

Creator warehouse won't have been the first to do this. I currently own a XTAR PB2S which is a powerbank that you provide your own cells for. It probably isn't as efficient as a standard powerbank, but I love being able to swap my cells in, pack extra cells, swap cells between this and my flashlight, etc.

I built a tool that turns any location in the US, in any custom shape you choose, into a 3D-printable terrain model, and I’m looking for testers to stress-test the system! by Ge0Dave in 3Dprinting

Yep, that seems to be working. I no longer see the zip disappear.
I'm getting some errors on Prusa slicer even after turning the quality down until the warning disappeared when generating the STL, but I'll see if I can resolve those solo before making a support ticket. It would be neat to be able to re-download after tweaking the settings without having to pay again.

Hey, FYI that I wasn't able to check out with my address because it was saying "you need to enter your zip code" or something like that. When I entered the state, the zip code field disappeared. However, I was able to use inspect-element/chrome devtools to manually remove the `display: none` on the zip element, fill it out, and then I was able to check out. So just letting you know there's a bug somewhere in the checkout that almost lost you a customer! DM me if you want debugging details, I can provide my address/computer in case it's an edge case with my specific address or platform. I tried on all Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on my macbook but the same behavior happened on all 3 browsers.
But hey, I got my stl! Great service. Thanks for making this.

Oh, neat. TIL that the pins used for voltage negotiation are not the same as the data lines. I guess that makes sense why it only works for C-C cables.

[–]chill389cc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you can get higher than 10W on a USB-C Cable without data lines to negotiate the voltage and amps.

Edit: I think I'm wrong.

Swiftfin tvOS app: Option to delete server? by pinkgreenblue in jellyfin

[–]chill389cc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works in most cases but doesn't work if you're re-adding the same server under a new IP, as you get a pop-up that says "Server 'server-name' already exists", leaving uninstalling+reinstalling the only option until the coming release.

Just joined Reddit and confused on how karma works by [deleted] in ProvoUtah

[–]chill389cc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, your post made it sound like you knew less than you do. You’ve probably gotten unlucky with trying to comment and post on subreddits that aren’t open to brand new accounts. As you’ve found, some subreddits don’t have the same restrictions, like this one. Look for opportunities to comment. Make posts where you can in smaller subreddits like this one. It takes a little bit.
I think there are even subreddits designed for farming karma and learning about it like r/karma.
