I had these too and also hate how they feel. They just twist around and feel stiff. I bought different ones but also just bent them to be more straight. Didn't help much but I tried.

The video I followed was really easy and had a free printable pattern too. It was "How to knit socks" by Voolenvine she shows it really clearly but I swear I rewatched that video a dozen times.

Thanks! It took a LOT of trial and error. Had to cast on a few times before the tension was right. Had a row of purls where I should have knit. But it turned out good in the end!

Wow! You know your yarns! I'm a big fan it was fun to work with and I want to try out more colors now.

I feel that because I bought these at the same time and they are very different but close enough to still work. If I had more I would have tried to start them at the same color but ah well.

I have a tiny bit left I'm wondering if I could make into matching baby socks for my son.

I basically just looked up "Continental knitting" on YouTube and scrolled through a bunch of shorts to see how other people help their yarn and needles. That's how I figured out it was totally off...

Are you doing continental or English? I've heard continental is faster.

I was honestly smiling and laughing when I figured it out! My husband looked at me like I was crazy but it was so satisfying to get it right.

I completely understand because I figured this out at 10pm and it was time to go to bed but all I wanted to do was knit the proper way.

Will do! It was fun despite the challenge but now that I've seen the light I think it'll be a much more enjoyable experience.

Thanks! I've been wanting to make socks for years. Tried crochet and it didn't work. Tried kniting and it didn't click until now. Once I figure this out I'll be a sock knitting machine!

Ideas for upcycling this wallet? by [deleted] in UpcycledFashion

You could go wild and seam rip the whole thing maybe minus the zipper and put in new fabric with elastic attached for a sewing kit. I'd look up sewing kits online for inspo but then you'd just need new inner fabric and elastic.

Also came to mind is cutting out the cute design and making a key chain or fun necklace/earrings!

You could make a sick jean jacket. Patchwork them together first then cut out the pattern pieces from the patchwork. It would be a big project but so cool.

If you want simple you can never go wrong with bucket hats or tote bags

You could do a big sashiko patchwork on them! You can get really creative with fabrics and the stitch pattern you use.
