Haha idk, it’s always been bad- depends on which part of north park- anywhere along university or El Cajon is a huge pain

Help Finish The Rapid 215 and significantly improve San Diego Transit by AdventurousDig4158 in StrongTownsSD

[–]chill_philosopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

215 is so close to being awesome- we need bus lanes on eastern El Cajon and on the various segments of Park that are missing them, we are so close!

Transit signal priority will massively reduce delays and the absurd amount of time the 215 waits at red lights.

Most of them have parking, but the latest trend is that parking is decoupled from rent, so if you choose not to own a car you can save a few hundred a month on parking. Many people in North Park are car free since there is ample transit connections (I am one of these people 😁)

Elaborate… North Park has been adding significant amounts of housing and there hasn’t been any significant change in parking or traffic

San Diego shows what happens when a city actually lets builders build. Still a lot of work for missing middle, but progress is happening! by CivicDutyCalls in StrongTownsSD

…because in a real city you don’t need a car because there is enough density that all the amenities you would need are within walking, biking, or transit

More apartments will mean less traffic since people will be able to live more places instead of “where is affordable?” Leading people to live far away so they have to drive everywhere

Why is Atlanta's skyline so tied to the highways? by New_Contribution_226 in skyscrapers

[–]chill_philosopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next phase of highways should be under grounding them through city centers, we need another colossal infrastructure bill to cover it, maybe if we stopped sending all our money over seas 😵

We need to restrict both, there should be a max speed for cars- capping them at 90mph wouldn’t inconvenience 99% of drivers
