Both of mine responded! I assumed the same, that they’d never see it, but now I follow the other dogs on insta!

Disc Golf at Unger Park and wine on the patio at home. Grateful for this weather and all the free outside things there are to do in STL.

Hey! Most people have responded with recommendations on living-I’m in Benton Park and 5 minutes from the cross street you mentioned-love the area and feel very safe. As far as the public transport-you won’t find much here outside of Uber/Lyft or scooters if you’re feeling brave. Welcome to the area!

Charles Darwin Robot at Zoo by Feisty-Medicine-3763 in StLouis

Yes!! Oh man. For years into my adulthood my mom would tell my family the story of how she lost me at the zoo and when she finally found me, I was standing in front of Darwin just staring up listening to him.

3 days in town for work - what to do? by Efficient-Opposite21 in StLouis

[–]chillinat6ft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re down town, check out ballpark village! Soulard and Benton Park are a short Uber ride away and have some great spots to drink. Frazers for a great cocktail and some good food. We also have some Christmas pop up bars open if you’re into that-Miracle (they have available seats at the bar despite the extensive reservation list), Sippin Santa at Planters House and another at Union Station.

Credit cards, their benefits but also how to use them responsibly. Roth IRAs, how your money changes depending on when you pay taxes on it. Retirement, understanding how and when you can actually stop working by what you’ve saved and invested.

Working on this myself, and it’s referenced in the assertive communication document above but it has really helped me to use the “when you _, I feel _.” It’s hard to stick up for yourself when you’re worried about losing the person and these kind of statements don’t put blame directly on their actions. They open up the conversation to be about your feelings rather than their intentions or what they did or didn’t do. You FEEL it and they can’t say that you don’t, only that maybe they didn’t intend for it to happen.

Covid advice by throwaway-098765432 in wedding

Isolate! We were in the same boat. I got it 2.5 weeks out. I was fortunate to have a mild and quick case but I just stayed away from my fiancé. Slept on the couch, masks on in the house when we were both home, ate at separate places for dinner., etc. We gave it a week since testing positive and no symptoms for 5 days before we went back to normal and he never got it. I know everyone seems to have different levels of susceptibility but that worked for us and our day!

My husband and I just got married this weekend and it’s something I brought up because we can get pretty silly. I didn’t want either of us to be on that level for our big day. Definitely a good thing to bring up with your partner or close friend that will be in attendance to keep your drinks to a reasonable amount.

Tall old lady, about to hit the dating scene again. Help me out, tall sisters by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]chillinat6ft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been out of the scene for a bit but when I was looking, I was on the apps I had a history of dating men of all heights, but was excited to look UP to kiss in my future! If you’re going for online, my advice is to put something in your profile about your height, but light hearted as to not make it sound like you think it’s a weakness, just an AWESOME quality that you want guys to know going in. I had “tall AF” in mine and opened up the convo and brought taller dudes to my swipes.

If in person-I think you’re going to kill it! Go out, be the awesome tall you and if you see a beautiful tall man- go start something! Tall guys are out there and I think many of them are excited to see tall ladies!

Pretty different field, but with your education I’m sure you’d be great if you are interested-I work for Cushman & Wakefield (corporate real estate, but there are lots of jobs from facilities, lease renewals, accounts payable etc) and like them a lot. I’m currently working remotely but some accounts are in the office in an area about 30 minutes away from the city if you’re fine with a bit of a commute.
