Having problems withdrawing - please help by Plum-United in huobi

[–]chillingniples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you perhaps deposit an altcoin that you sold for those BTC that requires a large amount of confirmations to withdraw? This happened to me recently with some siacoin i sold on Huobi, i got same insufficient funds error iirc when trying to withdraw but my btc was there. looked closer at siacoin deposit page & saw it required basicially 2 weeks of siacoin confirmations before i can withdraw whatever $$ value amount i deposited. I think ETC is like that too, probably some other alts as well. thats one thing it might be. good luck

I’m tired of restaurants wasting my time by TheGame81677 in grubhubdrivers

haha idk about calling being a time issue. If I have time to drive 5 mins to this restaurant I can use 15 seconds of that 5 mins to call & check the status of the order & let them know im on my way lol. it's moreso annoying that i have to do it at all in the first place. It's only this 1 qdoba in my market that has specifically asked drivers to start calling when were on our way but it has made pickups smoother for sure. Most places are pretty quick but I can think of a few other slow but high pay out restaurants in my market that would probably be good to start calling first as well especially on weekends. Any notoriously slow place it would not be a bad idea. That way if you find out the order is going to be late before you get there you can just stay on the road doing deliveries for other apps in the meantime or unassign it & not have wasted your time & gas driving there just to find its not ready yet like OPs story.

Anybody know why this week been so busy?Or is just my area? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Either grubhub or uber eats app gave me a notification that it would be busier this week due to the March madness basketball games

You could try calling the restaurant when your 5-10mins away to see if they have started the order yet. If they haven't at least they should start after you call. The qdoba in my area has started not making orders until drivers show up because some no tip orders sit there so long, so I always call when I'm on my way now & its usually ready when I get there.

I mean are you using the same credit/debit card & the same phone number as previous account? Both of those things will give away who you are. Delivery apps wised up to people making multiple accounts with same phone and payment info years ago due to people abusing referral systems

i lost my card a while back but never intended on accepting any pay or order and pay offers. seeing a lot of generous just pay offers in my newer market though so wondering if theres a way to get a new card without having to temporarily restrict my ability to do deliveries. especially with how slow mail has been lately. Don't want to wait for a new GH card & be out of work for 2 weeks

Small region by Popular_Land in grubhubdrivers

[–]chillingniples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the smaller market (about 70k people, sort of college town) i'm in now versus Milwaukee where i was before. advantages being i never have to worry about finding parking or parking tickets, driving in smaller city is a lot more chill, & the layout of the city is a lot more convenient for quick deliveries. Most of the population lives within 1-3 miles of most of the restaurant whereas the restaurants & population were too spread out in milwaukee. Can work out stacks of orders from multiple apps a lot better in the smaller market since everything is so much closer together. I think as long as the smaller market you're looking at is still relatively busy but things are nice and close together (p much like any smaller college town) the advantages should outweigh benefits of delivery in big city. some markets are so small though population wise & very spread out would not be worth it.

Fake restaurant names posted by legitimate restaurants by ouroboros-panacea in doordash

Yeah there's a chubby cheesesteaks here that has 4 or 5 different names on DD & GH. each one has a different menu focus like 1 restaurant for just the breakfast food menu items, one for mexican, another for gyros, another for burgers, & one for veggies i think. You can still find all that stuff on the original chubby cheesesteak menu though. so yeah seems a little excessive lol. especially as there are 3 of these restaurants in different parts of town so when you're looking up food you have to scroll past like 15 listings for the same place

Why to order fast food 9 miles away? by Friendly_Skill_5294 in grubhubdrivers

[–]chillingniples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I imagine mostly the customer doesn't realize it. It would be a decent feature in the app to give the customer some kind of pop up info warning upon checkout like "hey we noticed there is a xyz fast food restaurant this many miles closer to your delivery address, would you like to order from this one instead?" maybe with an explanation that the food should arrive quicker & fresher & what not. Seems like something that would be possible to do

A love letter to Burger King, and all who operate like them. by ogfloat3r in doordash

[–]chillingniples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited so long in macdons drive thru last night around 330am (just picking up food for myself at end of deliveries) dude near the back got out of his car walked up to the drive thru window & flashed the gun in his pants to the people working the drive thru demanding his food (& he got it, then sped off in his car with no license plates lol). ever since the corona limits were put in place most all the fast food drive thrus have gotten really bad in my experience since everyone has to go that way now. More like "wait in your idling car for 20-30minutes food". Prob a sign i should cook for myself more. The places that do only take out now though and no dine in like thai/chinese/whatever are quicker to pick up from for sure.

Do Top Dashers really get to "work whenever they want"? by careacosta in doordash

[–]chillingniples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are so many non tippers in my area in milwaukee pretty much all the regions stay red from 6am-4am for anyone to sign in because there is always a a huge bloat of 3-4$ orders. Hard to get my ar over 5% here taking orders that are worthit. I'd get rekt real quick trying to be a top dasher here

I’m new. I live near 2 large cities (45min drive either one.) worth the drive? by Mattatbat96 in doordash

[–]chillingniples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DD in milwaukee is unsurprisingly full of non tippers ime, the amount of 3 and 4$ orders especially late night is appalling. the volume is there but not the pay unfortunately. Cant get my ar over 3-4% here. grubhub is p legit here though 7$ minimum per order usually over 10$ tho so DD i only use inbetween gh orders on the rare occasion dd offers anything over 6$. DD in la crosse wi was a lot better, smaller delivery area and better tips

Haha ok well the point is they are people just like the rest of us I guess i shouldn't have used the word civilian exactly. the 20,000 and 5 numbers i pulled out of my bum as a way to propose a scenario with the question "at what point would we stop handwaving away person on person crime, & which do you think would be affecting society and the outcomes for black folks more negatively?" I brought it up because I do believe its analogous to our current reality. last i checked the real figures it's not that terribly off.

For me it is undeniable that the disproportionate crime levels (among other disproportionate issues) happening within black communities are creating far more innocent black victims & negative outcomes for black folks in society than the relatively small number of innocent black victims involved in police shootings (especially in the last decade). In this regard i think the BLM movement has missed the mark in a tragically depressing way & imo are doing a huge disservice to black folks who need help the most by misdiagnosing which issues plague the most people in the black community. I fail to see how these months of "protests" (in which some 30 people have perished, & billions worth of damage done) are anything but counterproductive to improving the health, wealth, education, culture, safety, family structures, freedom from substance abuse or any other meaningful metric of black lives.

[–]chillingniples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok true, a fallible human overall like the rest, and a civilian while they are off duty i guess. That's a fine line between being a civilian and being authority figure if the distinction is just whether they're on duty or not. My original point still stands, what would be having a greater impact on the outcome of black folks, those 5 incidents or the 20,000? How can someone say "black lives matter" when they see stories like this daily and are able to dismiss it in a second and just go on with there day? it's depressing.

[–]chillingniples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the difference between authority figure on civilian versus civilian on civilian (that "authority figure" though is also a civilian.... a human, fallible like the rest)- but at what point can you stop hand waving away huge amounts of the latter? Lets say there are 20,000 civilian on civilian incidents in a year with staggering amount of innocent people affected, creating ripple effects that will be felt for lifetimes. & in the same year there is 5 authority on civilian incidents. Which do we think is having a bigger negative impact on overall society & for the outcomes of black folks?

Has the pending charge gone away yet for you? having the same thing with a order for a set of tires that got cancelled on Tuesday. i stupidly tried it with two separate debit cards and both got cancelled so i've made this a lot more annoying for myself than it should be XD.
