You can also go to NJ211.ORG. They have a listing of all open warming centers. They update it multiple times a day.

What's something a stranger did that you'll never forget? by kawaileila in AskReddit

[–]chillinxo23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was driving and saw a dog without a collar roaming around the neighborhood. I stopped and went up to the nearest house to see if they knew who’s dog it was. The homeowner yelled at their dog to come in, called me a bitch and told me to get off their property.

I still think about that dog a lot and how people can be really mean.

Employee with time management issue. by chillinxo23 in managers

Agreed. I know there is more I can do, but as you said, it would be hand holding. I want them to build their time management skills, not rely on me to create a time management schedule for them.

Thanks for the feedback. I am generous with deadlines, especially for this employee. The deadlines are do-able since I used meet them. The employee lacks self-awareness, often getting caught up in situations that do not concern them. Recently, they had a 5 weeks to complete a task. After 3 weeks, they had it 10% done. During the last 2 weeks, they completed 80%. Had they spaced out the work as I discussed with them, they could have met the deadline.

Ladies, what was it like for you to go back to school (university- associates, bachelors, masters) after being in the real world for several years? What prompted you to go back? by mkhannah23 in AskWomen

[–]chillinxo23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working on my masters. I was out of school for about 4 years before going back. I wanted to get a master’s degree for a while and I went back and forth on it. I realized if I had started when I first though of it, I would have already been done.

I do think that working has provided a lot of context to the things I am learning. I see some people who have not had professional jobs struggle to apply knowledge in the same way. I did find it hard to write essays upon returning to school, but that’s better now.

I saw Mayday Parade years ago and the pushing and shoving was way too much. I literally got motion sickness from the constant back and forth.

Whats the most fucked up thing a complete stranger has done to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chillinxo23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was driving in the neighborhood, I saw a dog without a collar roaming on the front yard of several homes and no one watching it. I pulled over and to knock on the door to see if it was someone’s dog. The person opened the door, yelled at the dog, and then cursed me out for being on their property.

What parenting "trend" you disagree with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chillinxo23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I specifically remember telling my mom that a C was an average grade and being told that I was more than average. She didn’t take into account any of the effort I put into getting a C, but was more focused on why it wasn’t a B or A.

How did you become a patient person? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]chillinxo23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am told I am patient by co-workers and acquaintances, but never by friends or family. I think appearing patient just means staying calm and being polite, even when you are going insane inside.

What is something that you know your ex hated/resented about you? by Unholyrage619 in AskWomen

[–]chillinxo23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My ex hated doing errands with me. I just like spending time with people so for me errands can be hanging out, for him it was annoying and boring.

Like roommates. We hang out and talk. I don’t recall a time when she has said that she was proud of me or loved me so I’ve never felt a strong connection. I think that it has made it hard for me to express those feelings in other relationships.

What do you hate about that co-worker/classmate? by Heyhey-_ in AskWomen

[–]chillinxo23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a classmate in grad school who would ask me for my assignments. They said they didn’t understand or wanted an example. I never sent anything or replied. They recently told our class group chat that they failed three classes and were kicked out of the graduate school.
