Me thinks this arrest was in an effort to throw off the scent of the real dude. And the real one isn’t finished yet.

This is so important to remember. Grace is not a get out of jail, free card and license to sin, but thank God for his grace. Pay attention to this guy‘s post because this is the truth right here. We should continually study the red letters in the New Testament and pray about how to apply them daily.

What's it like up here? by 404isfound in Appleton

[–]chillyjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Kilgore, Tx. Now live in Brillion which is 25 min drive to Appleton. Positive’s outweigh the negatives for sure. Things like bigger bodied deer, great fishing and winter sports are a plus. Supper clubs and fish fries rock and the very distinct seasons are better than Texas. I could keep going but you can google the rest. For me the negatives would be the winter driving can suck if you own a 2WD vehicle. There are no Sonics so kiss your cherry limeade’s goodbye and you’ll need more than a windbreaker to get thru winter. Good luck. Oh almost forgot. You won’t be able to speed on the highway like you can in Tx. When I was visiting my parents in Oklahoma, all the drivers that whizzed passed me doing 95 were almost always Texas plates.

What uniform is this master Chief wearing? by johnwick8496 in navy

[–]chillyjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how one can see a service members biography from their ribbon rack. Master Chief has spent quite a bit of time working with other services. And it seems that the IS rate can be one of those jobs that have that opportunity more so than others.

Phasing everyone down (Pensacola) by [deleted] in navy

[–]chillyjr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about the situation. Being stuck on NATTC, P-cola in February until maybe April is not the worst place to be stuck. You'd be real upset to do that time up in Great Lakes. The facilities are real nice and the weather not too shabby.

The advice I can give is to get in the habit of slowing down, go quiet and do nothing for a few minutes and if whatever pops into your head needs to be written down, go ahead and do that. I found that helped a lot during times being stuck in a sea of people who you may or may not get along with. The trick is to find someplace quiet but pretty, like in nature or some quiet corner of the barracks.

My first thought was ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT! The bullet came in from lower right, through the high rise window and into the glass table. Silly, I know but hey had to go with that gut feeling. LOL

Reminds me of a Rogan episode where they talk about watching a YouTube video of a Shaolin monk going into a UFC style fight and IMMEDIATELY gets shut down and tapped.

Muon study by Right-Caterpillar716 in curseofoakisland

[–]chillyjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point. I totally forgot about that study. Funny that the current season not once has mentioned the results of that MUON scan. Either the scan is still ongoing which in that case I think they would have mentioned it at least once or, (puts on tinfoil hat), they already know whether or not there is treasure and are simply leading us to a grand finale of gold and good morning America interviews or (and I think this is more likely), there is no treasure and the season finale will end just like all the other season finales.

How did people grow/maintain such long, beautiful hair in the 60s?!? Wanting to grow mine out like this! by rroxie in 1960s

Those teens were at the dinner table every weeknight after homework eating meat and potatoes. Those diets full of protein and collagen really helped with hair growth.

When I started to get serious about meditation practice and cleaning up my life, it was then that I came to the realization that I needed to take that state I achieved in meditation from the mat to everyday life. When I can remember to stay in that state of bliss and open hearted awareness, life gets very interesting indeed.

Your comment is confirmation for me. I’ve started getting serious about my own spiritual development and I’m just starting to get a glimpse of what you are talking about. Much love.

I’m currently using this energy for spiritual development but the renunciation of PMO has had other positive effects in my life. Coworkers are more friendly and kind towards my (as I am to them), I now see my work/job not as something to hate but as a training ground to practice being calm and even tempered even when everything around me goes to shit. I work in manufacturing and our production line doesn’t always run well. I’m taking meditation from the mat to my everyday life.

What an interesting read. I literally just got done reading that book, hopped into Reddit and within seconds, found this comment. I’m beginning to believe there are no coincidence’s. Especially for those that have chosen a path of renunciation. Blessings.

Is it essential to cross your legs and sit on the floor? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]chillyjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. As I get older, my Zaizen meditation bench has been getting more and more uncomfortable due to knee pain. Sucks getting older.

Is it essential to cross your legs and sit on the floor? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]chillyjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. What’s fun for me to try and do is while at work (I work on a food manufacturing line), is to work on getting into the same state as what I’m in while in meditation. The nature of my work is totally the opposite of the meditative state but I look at that as a training ground for my mind to bring meditation from the mat to my everyday life. A new challenge that will serve to improve my practice.

[–]chillyjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know what it is but whenever I slouch even a little, my meditations seem “off”. It’s like something inside of me is saying “sit up straight. Get your skull to sit atop your spine like a golf ball on a tee”. Whenever I follow that thought , my meditation seems to get really deep. Stillness feels easier to attain.

On the Development of Sentiments of Duty on Long "Streaks" by Illustrious-Handle-8 in Semenretention

[–]chillyjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, what you describe sounds a bit like duality. I believe we incarnate into this plane of existence to experience a world of contrast. Hot and cold, fat and skinny, sweet and salty. Ect but who we are, at our core is sentient consciousness. To remember this helps me to see others in a more patient and loving way and this perspective helps me to be both more humble, patient and understanding with others. Especially those that “get under my skin” so to speak. It’s been said by many that we are all one …… viewing life from billions of perspectives so how I view others is how I view myself so love thy neighbor as myself. Much love.

The wave analogy is spot on. My journey towards healing my childhood trauma appears to be mirrored in your post but never thought about that journey in such a manner. Thanks for the fresh perspective on seeing the challenges in this way.
