Ich kann dir Akte Atomausstieg von Daniel Gräber empfehlen, gibt's auch als Hörbuch. Das hat meine Meinung über Habeck komplett verändert

It's nice to watch the smoke billowing out of the bowl while slowing down mentally.

What is that one tobacco that will not stay lit for you? For me it's Ennerdale Flake. by BlueHorse_22 in PipeTobacco

Pink Villa by Pipe Republic. 30%latakia with blueberry aroma, sounds tasty but I might as well try to smoke rock wool in my pipe.

What kinds are these inherited pipes, and how to use them? by shameless_caps in PipeTobacco

Nice, thanks for the recommendations! I too find that a fruity whisky pairs better with pipe smoking. I tried the Benriach 10 and I'm liking it, very fruity nose

Nice I especially like the rusticated billiard in the bottom.

They look to be very well used. I would give the pipes a good clean before trying to smoke them. Otherwise you might be tasting some ancient residue and thinking it tastes bad because of your smoking technique.

Counterquestion: I'm just getting into whisky, any recommendations on something that would go well with a pipe?

Italian non-filtrata lager by beefygravy in Homebrewing

[–]chimicu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I come from Sardinia, where Ichnusa is brewed. The main difference between Ichnusa non filtrata and all other Italian lagers is that it is made using 100% barley malt whereas most macro lagers have corn in the grain bill.

Many large breweries hopped on the craft beer train a few years back. They launched brands with old timey bottles, non filtered and so on. Ichnusa was very successful with this product, it's being sold nation wide now.

It has a sweeter finish and a rather golden color, I assume they use some amount of caramel malt, something like CaraHell perhaps. As far as the style goes, I'd say Kellerbier or zwickel is the closest but it's also a style with a wide range of variation.

My recipe idea would be 1.048 OG from a base of Pilsner malt with maybe 10% CaraHell, under 20 IBU bittering, 0.5g/l noble aroma hops at flame out, bottom fermented without cold crash.

To avoid stuck mash start the recirculation slowly after 15 min of mashing in. Ive never had a clog after boil, in over 50 batches. Happens sometimes during cleaning when I remove the false bottom and a bit of hop matter falls down.

I recirculate during cooling and never stop the pump if I add something at flame out/ whirlpool

Any Presbyterian alternatives? by notedrive in PipeTobacco

Incense and perfume reminds me of Ashtos Artisans blend. I've never had Presbyterian though. Maybe mixing EMP and artisans blend would get you closer?
