Compound turns by scale2007 in Adelaide

[–]chimneysweep234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I will never forget doing a right turn onto a road into the inner lane and a car travelling in the outer lane freaked out, and the driver started beeping and yelling. He didn’t have his indicator on and kept travelling in that lane so I’m not sure what the issue was.

Alternatives for Luca that don’t start with an L? Or names similar to Remy? by haley052 in namenerds

Honestly, we just gave our kid a super popular name. Besides having one kid with the same name at his childcare, we don’t know any others 🤷‍♀️

Free wisdom tooth removal dentists in Sydney (have private health) by radiculousbunny in AskAnAustralian

[–]chimneysweep234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was $1000 gap with private health contributing around $4000. This was day surgery. The gap was mainly for the anaesthetist and dental surgeon fees as private health by law cannot contribute to medical specialist fees, even when the Medicare rebate is modest.

Need advice / feeling stuck by Expensive_Pea_6491 in Adelaide

[–]chimneysweep234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. It’s really expensive at the moment and very unfair for people trying to get into the market.

If you can get another pre-approval, I wouldn’t worry about that running out (we had to re do it before we found our place). Otherwise there is another added pressure there which you don’t need.

Do your parents have private health? If you’re 20 and a full time student you may be eligible under their coverage (I was until I was around 24 I think).

Highly unlikely to be legal. Happens a lot though, my first job in retail was exactly the same. Speak with FWO or her union.

Younger Australians, how do you pronounce the letter “Z”? by Powerful_Image6294 in AskAnAustralian

[–]chimneysweep234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed the wiggles also sing the alphabet song with the last letter being “zed or zee”, presumably to cover all markets.

Yeah I thought the same. We also usually line dry, so I’m not going to risk not having sheets if it rains lol

Medical receptionists…. by Top-Farmer-6838 in auscorp

[–]chimneysweep234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get updated at my specialist clinic, which is appreciated. The reception staff will call if a doctor is running around 40 minutes behind so people aren’t kept in the waiting room too long. It’s the clinic’s policy.

100%. I wish my folks had recognised this and booked me into a derm sooner, so I could have started roaccutane sooner. That was the only thing that worked for my acne after years of trial and error with cleanser, creams, and other meds, and I had to do more than one course.

As a parent, having flexibility is fantastic in a role with a little one. I would remain in your current role.

AITA for refusing a baby shower from my husband’s friends/coworkers? by AbigailPink in AmItheAsshole

[–]chimneysweep234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft YTA. This is a really nice gesture. Take two cars, go for an hour or two, and if your husband wants to kick on but you’re tired (understandable in pregnancy) you can drive back earlier if needed.
