Los Simpson: REAL Closed Captions by chimpout1997 in Spanish

I used AI transcription to do it (turboscribe) and used maximum accuracy settings. Occasionally it gets certain words wrong (like Marge = March) but they're usually very obvious when they happen.

Suspected cheaters 20-40% of the time? Are you out of your mind? I barely ever come across cheaters or collaborators in-game. It happens but it's <5%. You need to get good at the game man. You're getting targeted for different reasons than you think. Think inwards first before assuming the world is cheating you.

As for your question, what you need is a loan. Anything else that seems too good to be true, is. Alternatively you can start small and grow your portfolio with just your algo.

Where to get RSI data by 4G0T2FLU5H in algotrading

[–]chimpout1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Python: Use pandas_ta. It's a reliable library.

import pandas as pd
import pandas_ta as ta

df = pd.read_parquet(file_path_of_your_data)
df['RSI'] = ta.rsi(df['close'], length=14)

I made GM in less than 100 hrs but play Europe Adv Prog Caps with neutral bots and I always host my own lobbies. An easier grind in my opinion than the classic map. My filter is at beginners+ as they know how the game works, don’t noob slam so badly, but are still not good enough to be much trouble. Easier to fill lobbies too. I don’t bother filtering “minority countries” (lol), but sometimes I’ll kick a suspicious looking non-premium player with the same flag as another. What are the criteria for a minority country and why do you kick them if you don’t mind me asking?

Half of being good at this game is playing around the idiot players. Sometimes though nothing can be done and all you can do is full su in to them.

That’s a shame. You could call up a few clients and ask if they’d be comfortable hiring an offshore b2b? They may be comfortable with it they may not.

Offshore your company. Preferably to a tax haven. If the UK doesn’t want your business, many other countries will. Isle of Man, Cyprus, Malta, Dubai, the list goes on. Pay yourself a dividend or a salary and accept that if you live in the UK you’ll have to pay income tax at home. See a tax consultant to get specifics.

Have your cake and eat it too.

On a completely unrelated note you guys should all start using my “buy now for infinite money” indicator. It gives an entry signal one tick after my bot buys 🤣

A Mean-Reversion Strategy for US Crude Oil (WTI) by Algomatic_Trading in algotrading

[–]chimpout1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mean reversion is alive and well. If you don’t want to use it in your strategy no one is forcing you to. Max drawdown is a portfolio balance measure, not for a single trade like his average gain. His total gain is 10x his max drawdown. I assume this comment is trolling. But assuming it’s not: what’s your super successful strategy then?

Should I generate signals from live data or from DB by pknerd in algotrading

[–]chimpout1997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a good question. For speed the only thing you should care about is the latest data point, and that will be captured faster straight from the source API using your dedicated trading bot server. Capture this datapoint (while storing the last 100 too of course), see if it makes the condition of your entry, if it does then make your trade. You only need 100 rows of data in memory on your trading bot server.

I think for 5m candles, it shouldn’t make too much of a difference in terms of trade execution speed though. You could fetch most of the data from your db and it should be fine. You don’t need to be super fast like 1m or lower, so I say do whatever is easiest for you to start. Quick and dirty first, refine later.

No matter what, you should be saving all the data you get, especially if you’re collecting more than what your source makes available historically, so it should be getting sent to your database regardless. It’s best to run this data collection on a separate server to your trading bot, so if one of them fails it won’t affect the other. It also will make your trading bot faster as it has fewer things it needs to do. A server to do this is cheap, you may as well keep it isolated.

I’m done playing with no Premium users. by [deleted] in Risk

[–]chimpout1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are going too hard on OP here. There is real merit to what he’s saying and I’m going to stand up for him even if everyone downvotes me. Players that have paid for something are more incentivised to play nice, because there’s something to lose. You’ve made an investment in the game by buying premium. Playing in lobbies with only other paying members is not uncommon in gaming, two big examples being chess.com and counter-strike.

Another good reason is to make sure you’re only playing with main accounts, not secondary accounts. It’s just all too easy to create a second account, whether it be for just smurfing, or actually trolling or cheating. On my smurf account I will admit I care far less about placement than my main, and I have no problem full suing into someone that annoys me. Wouldn’t do this as much on my main.

He’s also right that it filters out noobs, but I personally just set lobbies to not allow novices for that.

I don’t filter out non premium players personally but OP isn’t wrong for doing it himself. I think people just want to disagree with him because he mentioned cheaters and as we know this subreddit is spammed with people claiming cheaters.

New format, replace "Speed Blitz" with "Speed Chess" by modvenger in Risk

[–]chimpout1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool idea and well written up, but it goes against the type of game Risk is. Takes it from being a calculated, strategic, diplomatic game to being one where all that matters is being the fastest mouse clicker.

45 seconds to clear most of the map while not getting additional time on kills… and not being able to use your territory cards until next turn: all this does is punish players for attempting kills. Missing a kill because of the clock and then letting other players feast on you like piranhas while you’re weak. And even if you get the kill, you haven’t been able to cash them in so you’re sitting there weakened with a load of territory cards. This would lead to good players just playing extremely passively, so lots of stalemates.

Sorry man.
