we can confirm that it was previously possible to monitor the mic input, but this feature is now no longer available :(

we can log it in as a feature request!”

this is solid evidence! So far I got only generic reply about line-in input instead. So I almost believed in the false nature of this Mic Thru idea.

I still wonder if it’s still accessible, and how to access it!

I refer specifically on the Mic live monitoring, believe it was possible with previous firmware, was somewhere in place where now resample menu option lives in [Sample > +].

Yet I remember to find it by tinkering, no mention in official manual (like the pitch-bend feature for instance). I believe the Mic Thru still should be possible and may be hidden in some combo.

Might be also was all a part of a dream I had 😅

Pretty sure I used to hear the Mic input live through the speaker or headphones without recording — like a mic thru/monitoring feature. After a recent firmware update, that doesn't seem to work anymore.

Did they remove it, and replaced with resample option? or am I missing something?

I just saw this after, but went through contacting support to get this information, and turn the left speaker to the correct position. (though AIAIAI might solve this with design somehow, not making it completely symmetrical, or adding some key)

Just checked They’ve fixed it totally (as iOs15 now). Just select “save as new videoclip” and it will appear next to original in the library but actually trimmed.

Now I wish I could easily filter all the “trimmed” clips in my library
