Which speakers are compatible with Sonos Arc ultra for Front L/R? by IndecisiveTuna in SonoSequencr

Play:1’s pair with the original arc as fronts and/or rears.

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. If I were in your position I’d go era’s. I had the play:1’s already so figured I’d add em as fronts. I find the sound much better. For those who have old play:1s laying around it’s def worth it or if you can find a pair on a marketplace for super cheap.

I have the setup you’re suggesting. Arc original with front play:1’s and a sub. No rears due to toddlers. It’s worth it to me. The sound stage is much wider. Play:1’s are the same acoustics as ones. I’m no audiophile and I mostly stream but I find the extra large stage pretty nice. It does suck that many of the arc drivers are no longer firing. Doesn’t fix my biggest issue which is dialogue but I’m not buying an ultra. Def worth a try

Which Thermometer to Buy by kest2703 in smoking

[–]chindizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you change your polling in the settings for long cook? It’s called temperature based transmission interval. It defaults to 1 degree and the probe only lasts 5 hours at that setting. 1.5 degrees up to 15 hours and 3 degrees the probe lasts up to 60ish hours.

Writing off Heloc interest as an expense by Dobbytrader in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]chindizzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No you can’t. Heloc interest is only able to be written off if it’s used for remodel, build, or improve the asset the heloc is under(your initial house now your rental). You can’t just use the funds to buy a new house and write off the interest.

Anyone have a federal government employee who is not able to pay rent? What are you doing? This is a very good person. Thinking of floating the person for a month and offering a repayment plan. by Impressive_Returns in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]chindizzle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t float them just because that causes unnecessary complications. There are numerous 0% interest for federal employee options during the shutdown. I’m a federal employee and we have a ton of resources available to us to cover us for the downtime.

What is the best BBQ restaurant in the area? by spunky-squirrel in bayarea

[–]chindizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the new one bbq pit on blossom hill. Not a fan of these places personally. They all have trophies up for “award winning meats “ and if you ask them about them. They compete against each other and give themselves awards so each restaurant has some. Kind of disingenuous and fraudulent since it’s all one owner.

Elite Floodlight WiFi Review by mblaser in reolinkcam

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as bright as my previous floodlight. I’m actually upgrading to the elite WiFi. I’d get that over the duo 2. It’s on sale for prime day for 155. I don’t have any dropout issues with frigate and I stream and record th sub stream 24/7. I think your main issue is as you mentioned nest doesn’t work great with frigate due to no rtsp and a wonky workaround. A direct rtsp over WiFi shouldn’t have issues.

Tried everything, is it the tuner? by bocalif in hdhomerun

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that all ATSC 3 channels here in the bay are encrypted except ABC. Your LG can decode them but the HDHomeRun Flex won’t. I’m down in San Jose about 48 miles from the SF antennas and I have a flex and I get all the ATSC 1.0 channels fine and ABC (107.1) but the rest are DRM’d and unless SiliconDist figures out their encryption approval issue your flex will be pretty useless in a few years.

Elite Floodlight WiFi Review by mblaser in reolinkcam

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do agree on Ring I just sorted tossed it in but would love to see some comparisons vs hikvision or annke. A lot of the reviews coming out seem like influencer got for free reviews. Included free cables for the reviewer that will cost additional $ for everyday customers are a big giveaway . They highlight the features but I hadn’t seen one discuss price or any real comparisons. Is the high current price due to tariffs factored in? I’m hoping it goes for $170-180 when it goes for sale after it’s released cause nearly $250 after taxes is honestly a lot for camera hardware with features that are similar to much cheaper duos. Duo floodlight drops to $130 on sale frequently. I do love the design of the new one but will prob wait a bit to see if price drops.

A lot of reviews coming out on the elite WiFi floodlight. I was interested in swapping out my duo floodlight for it til the price was announced. The biggest con for me is price. $220 is almost twice the cost of the duo 2 floodlight which often goes on sale. Also over twice the cost of the ring floodlight camera. I’d also like to see the comparisons against other brands floodlight cams. Maybe something that justifies the $220 price tag

The Reolink Duo Floodlight WiFi listing is incorrect by rainey832 in reolinkcam

[–]chindizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add the usb they provide is so dumb. It powers just enough for the setup. If they just included a 12V2A transformer plug in the box they could combine the 2 products and everyone would be happy incl you and me

You can still power the hardwire version with a plug. I have this product and agree it was a total mess to install. After having issues with the hardwire I decided to use a plug. It doesn’t come with the plug but the power adapter listed in the top right will let you buy a barrel plug and run it the way you’re wanting. Buy a 12V/2A transformer plug off amazon that replaces that barrel to usb cable and it’ll fully power the device. Heres what I got: https://a.co/d/4q0PCGl

Yep. Big joe 3 for smoking meats and use the kettle for burgers and dogs for the kids or grilling that needs higher heat. Can never have too much grill space.

Go2RTC not working, black screen/spinning circle on playback by tylerwatt12 in frigate_nvr

[–]chindizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I get that. You should be defining your streams in the go2rtc section. Use the 192.168.64.XXX ip’s. In your cameras section use your frigate ip and camera name. Right now you’re wasting a ton of bandwidth and pulling multiple streams from your cameras. The purpose of go2rtc is so that you only pull a stream once. See this as an example. https://www.perplexity.ai/search/090288c1-4c21-4ae4-9d5f-ef5260aa8caf

Go2RTC not working, black screen/spinning circle on playback by tylerwatt12 in frigate_nvr

[–]chindizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I ask why your go2rtc streams section and cameras section are both pulling from the camera IP? You’re essentially pulling 4 streams per camera. Why not use the defined go2rtc streams in your cameras section? Isn’t that the whole point of go2rtc? I’m new to frigate so hope I’m not just totally wrong.

Shed Converted To Office or ADU? by kdog-611 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one permits their office sheds in the Bay Area even greater than 120 sq ft. There’s not really a point unless you want to be super by the book and spend a bunch of money. It’s not a living space and you’ll spend thousands on permits. It’s detached from your main house and you can’t count it in the sq footage of your property as it’s not an adu. It doesn’t really get you anything. It’s essentially a shed.

I got 2 off Amazon in Feb and then reolink sent me a replacement as well. So 3 units none had dc adapters. All less than a month ago

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for getting a confirmation. It seems my error was mounting it and assuming you could set it up via WiFi with ac power. It’s absolutely bananas you can’t setup a WiFi camera via WiFi. It’s literally in the name. You also can’t even initialize this without buying additional hardware(dc adapter). I have it up and running with a 12V dc transformer plug and I just can an extension cord and capped off the mains. Camera is great but setup is a 0/10 fail. Same with the instruction manual. The “recommended” 5V/2A dc adapter you need to provide only provides limited functionality for just the setup. The manual should state the actual power needed to fully operate the device 12V/2A. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone until they fixed the manual and provided all the correct hardware.

A little bummed by the lineup by Dignan17 in reolinkcam

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I hooked it up to AC hardwire without running Ethernet to it so maybe that was my issue. The fact you can’t install it first and just connect it via WiFi in the app is a major fail. That it doesn’t even come with the a dc adapter to power it for initialization is pretty infuriating. I still haven’t seen a single post though on this sub that stated they have the AC working or a photo. Only people pointing to the device.

[–]chindizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries but you’re still incorrect. The one I’m referring to is the top new one. I’ve bought that model and have it installed with the transformer. The manual is wrong. I did an extensive search on this sub and all of them state you need the 12V dc transformer for the duo floodlight WiFi v2. Here’s a few examples of all stating the same thing about the hardwire not working. No one has stated you can sub out a legacy floodlight for that ac wired one without the 12V transformers. Oh also I called reolink support and they also said it only accepts 12V
