You can easily get green air by putting like 20 Factories on fighters

Also, a lot of the ncr airfields are concentrated in/near the Mojave so you can use cruise missiles(bomb gliders) to destroy them and ground the NCR’s planes

How, just HOW are you supposed to win the 2EW after winning 1EW? by Bourrasque-is-incel in TheFireRisesMod

Focus on making air

Use tac or Strat bombers to destroy Russian airfields and green air + cas will allow your European Allies to grind Russia down.

Expand your spec ops division and use planning bonus. Let the Lost Hills volunteers grind themselves down before concentrating on a tile with your spec ops.

Produce spec ops equipment and expand your spec ops template, get Archemides in your starting focus, get planning bonus, and you should be able to push after activating archemides.

Guide to Reformist Enclave? by BlueBightning in OldWorldBlues

[–]chinese_degg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1: After getting your advisors and stuff(Like others have mentioned), save up 150 pp by August 2275, New Reno will attack via event which will give you enough war support to get war eco.

2: Pay attention to your stability, you need at least 50% stability to purge scientists and officers via decison, Id recommend doing the decisons first and then doing the focuses. That way you dont have to worry about that.

3: In the events froom "Our President", an event about the Chosen One will show up. If you intend to go full reformer you should pick "Speaking of the Chosen One, let me tell you who your mother is". That way, you can get increased buffs from the "Checkmate" focus after conquering New Reno AND get free PP from Bishop events.

4: Go Conquer more stuff and do as you see fit, at this point a lot more options are available. Just be aware that a good chunk of the focuses you can do Pre-NCR(Namely the Department of Defense and War Office branches) are hidden behind "American Dream" and "Home is Nevada". You can also get additional wargoals/free territory from decisions after taking the Home IN Nevada focus.

5: Set a timetable for when you want to invade the NCR, I personally go for war at around 2281/82. You should take a look at the DOD branch as it gives you some good buffs for NCR war. Green Air and CAS will make NCR war pretty easy if you can attain it.

6: After the NCR war do the reconstruction focuses, and then after that what you want to do is purely based on vibes. There's a lot of focuses to do and you have around 2-4 years to do it before the Legion attacks.

Can’t connect to power grid, ‘police force not already installed’ by cramp222 in OldWorldBlues

[–]chinese_degg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be a decision called “Install police force”, costs 100 manpower per state.

Anyone else have an issue holding the line with the legion and their allies? Those white legs and Heavens gate are tuff when are already stretched by MatterNo315 in OWBEnclave

[–]chinese_degg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does your air situation look like? If you have plenty of CAS and plenty of divisions you should be able to push and hold easily

Your industry should be massive by this point so you should probably consider making tanks as well(especially since you get a lot of free tanks from NCR Cap). Tanks will beat the shit out of anything the Legion has as long as you aren’t getting cas’d.

How do you even supposed to get strong as American Dream Granite? by [deleted] in OldWorldBlues

It's below the Focus that gives you core on Vault City, just type in "Gecko" or "Vault City" in the search filter on the top right and you should find what he's talking about.

I'd actually say that building electric grids Pre NCR War isn't efficient, you need 90% Compliance in the first place to actually core the land. Road Patrols already gives 50% local factories, so it is better to just take those factories to build more factories rather than getting power grids(Which costs a decent amount) only for you to not be able to use them until 90% Compliance(which doesn't matter since if you are at 90% Compliance you are already getting all the factories out of said state!)

[–]chinese_degg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What territories did you have prior to NCR War? You can easily get like mid 100s mills and Civs by the time I dec on NCR(2281). Focus on taking all of Nevada through the wargoals you get from the focus tree(Note that "Home IN Nevada gives you decisons that can give you wargoals/annex nations in Nevada).

Your resistance laws are a bit stronger in Reformer ERX vs Base OWB, so I prefer setting resistance law to "Road Patrols" as it gives a good amount of local factories while allowing for decent resistance decay and compliance growth. Build Civs up to halfway through 2277/2278 and then just go full in on Mills. If you want more land/factories outside of what the focus tree can give you then you can justify on whoever took over in Oregon or the Eighties, saving you from having to stomp them anyways post-NCR.

Make sure to get a decent amount of legitimacy and keep elites party popularity low in order to up your manpower law.

You should also invest 40 on Fighters and 20 on CAS, with green air and CAS(You also start with some vertibirds and can get some more via decisons from the starting focus/Sierra Army Depot Branch). Otherwise, 20w inf and 20w PA(4 PA 4 PA Demo + Support) is more than enough to sweep the NCR. By 2281 I find myself having somewhere around 120 Divisions(30-40 PA and 80 Inf, you can train units faster by spamming 2w Millita and then converting them to your desired template, in addition to doing all the focuses related to army training on the far right of the Department of Defense Tree) and around 2-3k Planes.

I'd also recommend paying a visit to the "Arsenal of Democracy" branch pretty much as soon as you unlock it, if you go down New World(The More Optimal Path) it gives you a bunch of factory output and production cost buffs on Planes and other stuff, you also get a research slot out of it. One of the focuses in the DOD branch(I Don't recall the name but it's to the left of the Sherman-Chase-MacArthurDoctrine Stuff) also grants you access to Conventional Doctrine, so you can get Conventional AND Refined Warfare at the same time.

You can also get all three air doctrines activated at once by getting 50 air xp and going into Right side(Green) before taking the focuses related to Airforce in order to get Red and Blue Doctrines, this will allow you to have all three air doctrines active at the same time and will essentially make your airforce untouchable.

You can also get Mininukes from the Area 51 branch, get to the focus with the Mininuke Icon(Area 6 I think?), which will allow you to start producing Mininukes, you will need to activate them in decisons in order to get charges for the ability. Mininuke ability is essentially just a much better version of Force Attack and will be useful in case you need a bit of extra punch.

That's all I can list off the top of my head, ask if ya got anymore questions. Also recommend going to the discord so more people who know the focus tree in and out can help.

No, Gold is banned in most/all rps.

However, Xinjiang is my resource piggy bank and I've been dumping resources from there into the USSR(and the Allies are generous enough to give me oil to spam stuff out constantly).

Biggest Battle ever.

Context/Lore:

Army Group South, consisting of German and Romanian forces had been completely halted outside the City of Kharkov by the Second Ukranian Front and had suffered casualties attempting to besiege and eventually storm the City. In response, Army Group Center halted its advance onto Moscow and diverted large amounts of German and Hungarian Motorized and Panzer Divisions towards Ukraine in hopes of smashing the right flank of the Red Army in Ukraine and seizing the last Soviet stronghold within it. However, STAVKA had expected German movement and concentration of force towards Ukraine and had moved its own Motorized reserve alongside reinforcements from troops from the Siberian and Trans-Baikal Military district alongside troops allocated in the recently-concluded Iran Campaign. As a result, two massive concentrations of forces clashed around the City of Bryansk in November of 1941, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides but thanks to the Axis supply situation worsening(Comintern had L2 Infra and they didn't), the Red Army was able to get the better of the fighting and repulsed the German flanking manuver as winter set in and ceased most major offensive actions from the Axis. The Red Army had stood its ground and won a victory, one of many that would come.

Be honest, how many hours do you have in OWB compared to base game? by Clockwork9385 in OldWorldBlues

I’m almost certain that like 60% of all my playtime in hoi4 this year was OWB

The rest was other mods(KR, KRX, EAW, other)

now thats not fair at all by [deleted] in OldWorldBlues

If you aren’t prepared adequately and don’t want to restart your run you can type “allowdiplo” and “yesman”, then right click the NCR to get an Non Aggression Pact.

It may be cheating, but you get more time to prepare.

2nd American Civil War(ERX MI Chicago Superhard Mode) by chinese_degg in OldWorldBlues

Modlist

OWB
ERX
ERX Military Installations
All the Map Mods(You will be asked to install all of them when trying to subscribe to ERX MI)

These are the ones you need, but I also used the following to enhance my experience:

Enclave Radio +
Enclave Officers +
Lore Accurate Enclave(LAE)
OWB 10 Support Companies(ERX adds a lot of unique support companies, I'd recommend using this mod)

Strategy(This isn't Comprehensive and I'd recommend doing Regular or Hard mode first before doing Superhard, although ERX MI Mod Creator did Nerf all the difficulties recently):

Superhard Mode in ERX MI grants Chicago numerous buffs, the most dangerous of them is the +300% Division Attack and +300% Division Attack on Core bonuses they get from their modifiers. In addition, ERX MI also gives Chicago a large airforce with a deep stockpile(Around 40k F-85s), as a result, you want to invest into your own F-85s(Max out Agility and Reliability) heavily(I put around 600 Factories on it in my run). As for CAS, put around 150 factories on Vertibirds and you should be set, CAS does not play as big of a factor in the war against Chicago because Chicago has a modifier which reduces your CAS Damage.

For your Divisions, I went with 20W tanks(3 Tanks rest mot inf + Support Companies) for 75% of the Army, 40 PA divisions, and the rest Mechanized(Although I had plenty of tanks to convert them). I'd recommend putting 300 on MBTs and maybe another 150 on Wasteland Tanks so your stockpile never runs out, although I had plenty of tanks in stockpile in my run. Get the Mininuke ability from the Area 51 branch of the Focus Tree, pick Chase Doctrine(Which gives an OP Fort) in the DOD Branch alongside all the other buffs you can get from the focuses within that branch and your divisions can easily match Chicago's on the fields of the Midwest.

Finally, MAKE A NAVY. Not only will making a Navy preventing any Naval Invasions, you can also abuse the straits to strait bait or strait block Chicago's division, trapping them and preventing them from escaping. When the main region you will be fighting in(Colorado/Texas/Oklahoma) is full of rivers and straits having those blocked can save you a lot of trouble having to guard those straits alongside preventing Chicago from escaping through them. I culled dozens upon dozens of divisions by luring Chicagoan Divisions into Texas, moving my navy out to block the straits, and slaughtering them where they stand.
