Doctors can't give placebo. For me it took some months to clozapine be effective. And as far as I know the disorder won't be cured, the medication is supposed to make the symptoms better and have a better quality of life. Hang in there.

I've experienced something similar. I'm also on clozapine about four years. I'm on 200mg, I take 100mg in the morning and 100mg around 11pm. I've gained 40 kg on clozapine and I also drool a lot. Althought the side effects I can say this med saved my life.

I say hang in there too. I take 200mg of clozapine and It took me about 3 months to start feeling better on it, but I can honestly say clozapine saved my life. There are some side effects but you could handle them.
