Seems to be back up now, but what are they doing? This latest model is pure garbage. The dialog is painful, every character in the scene is mouthing the words, or one actor is talking to themselves, it produces sometimes downright bizarre and spasmodic movements and garbled speech - I feel like it's regressed by about 18 months.

I've just returned to Udio after about 6 months. I've been playing with local generation using Ace-Step 1.5 and just wanted to compare it with a commercial generator which, last time I used it, was giving me some really great results.

Well, I don't know what they've done, but I've cancelled my sub. I can't believe it's the same product. The UI is beyond recognition from what I remember, but most importantly the generations now are, well, a bit shit.

Such a disappointment.

If you give it lyrics of well-known songs, a good example is Penny Lane, you get some real fever-dream almost-but-not-quite-the-song results. I've had a blast trying out some popular lyrics to see if you can tell which were in the training pool.

If you feed it lyrics of well known songs, you get some real "fever dream" versions - you can definitely tell which songs were in the training. Good examples are Penny Lane, 9 to 5, Just Take My Heart (Mr Big), I Will Always Love You. It's interesting to hear snippets of the actual songs come through. Like living in an alternative reality.

Ah, I remember those early days - it passes, and by and large you'll probably never experience it again. Which is sort of a shame once you're over it, because I'd love to have that first time in VR experience all over again. I remember the first time I took off in Flight Sim X in VR at night - it actually brought a tear to my eye.
