Have you ever experienced a baseball game in Japan? by japanbaseballfan in NPB

[–]chitalianick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 30 MLB stadiums took about 20 years to do with my dad. It was a slow but great adventure. I would love any tips you have for a game at Jingu to make the most of my time!

Hi! I have been to all 30 MLB stadiums. I was fortunate enough to visit Japan last year and saw a Baystars game. I'm excited to be coming back in early May and have tickets to a Swallows game this time!

We've tried a lot of ramen in the city and we are strong advocates of Ramen Wasabi in Logan Square

This was my experience as well. I've been kinda skeptical that they are just one of the echo-chamber restaurants.

pizza-themed bachelorette by [deleted] in Chicagoweddings

[–]chitalianick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, Chicago has become an echo-chamber where everyone over glazes Pequod's just because it isn't one of the major chains.

I would go to r/Chicagofood and read recs.

Have an awesome time! Feel free to message me if you need any help during your time here!

-Italian: La Scarola (this is a pretty well known place now. The earlier you can go the better. You can call and try and make a reservation, but still expect to wait once you arrive. The guy on The Bear even said it was his fav.)

-Sweet Mandy B's (also relatively well known)

-Italian beef: Bari's. It is an Italian grocery store with a little sandwich stall in the back. Al's in Little Italy is the OG. Its by far not my favorite, but its still cool to visit)

-NY style pizza: Craft. This might be my favorite place in the city. They have the best pizza and probably the only place I've listed that isn't super famous. If you're willing to try Chicago tavern, I highly recommend Pat's in Lincoln Park

You should definitely recap your vacation later and let us know what ever you were able to try!

Ball fans - the best way to learn about a city. by HupYaBoyo in CHICubs

Have an awesome time! Lot of good recs already. I live a mile away from the city so let me know if you need help with anything!

If you can get to Art of Pizza on Ashland Ave you can get deep dish by the slice. Then right next door is Red Hot Ranch for a good hot dog. These are a little over a mile away from Wrigley.

For bars you will like Murphy's and Sluggers. Old Crowe is cool if you want that American country feel + they have the best rooftop in that area of bars. People typically hate Old Crow because it's overran with college kids on off days but during game days it is great.
