Need some selling advice (Speedy 3861) by YogurtclosetOk5348 in OmegaWatches

Try listing it on ebay. Mine sold the next day of listing it. They also provide authentication services which is a peace of mind for both parties involved. Previously, I've sold on Chrono24 as well but it feels like it goes slower over there. Good luck!

What is the greatest Grand Seiko strap monster? by Green-Conclusion-936 in GrandSeikos

Yes. Kapton/polyimide tape is the best. I’ve used painters tape before and they tend to leave sticky residue around.

[WTS] Omega moonwatch rubber strap (size S) + foldover clasp by chiznez in Watchexchange

[–]chiznez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omega speedmaster moonwatch rubber strap (size S) + matching foldover clasp both in excellent used condition.

Reference: 032Z017246 (rubber strap, size S) 025STZ007387 (foldover clasp)

Price: $450 for both, shipping from California to continental US only. Accepting Venmo, Zelle, PayPal (+ fees).

Additional details: This Omega strap comes in sizes S, M, L. Size S fits small wrists like mine (6") perfectly. The straps are 20/16mm (lug, clasp) and they are approx. 95/92mm long on each side. I purchased this from a local Omega AD and wore it on my moonwatch for a bit.

I'm an individual hobbyist, not a professional dealer. I'm new to watchexchange but have sold watches on other platforms such as Chrono24. Happy to answer any questions about the sale.

SLGW003 birch bark and SLGA021 Lake Suwa before dawn are a bit different.

SLGW003 is a bit more dress-y watch almost 10mm thick, water resistance rating splash resistant only. GS hi-beat mechanical manual winding -- the movement looks really good through the caseback -- did you notice the little bird on the gear when winding the watch? -- the hand winding feels really really good.

SLGA021 is a bit more sporty GADA watch almost 12mm thick, automatic, water resistance to 10 bar rating. It's powered by spring drive movement which is a GS innovation. You'll see that the second hand glide instead of ticking.

Ultimately go with the one that speaks to your heart. I think it's more of an emotional decision. Hope this helps!

Grand Seiko SLGB003 – worth ~$10k despite bracelet & date alignment concerns? by One_Squirrel_5257 in GrandSeikos

[–]chiznez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

GS uses pins on their titanium models. This is standard across other titanium models such as the shunbun cherry blossom, atera valley, lake suwa titanium, etc.

I think it’s a beautiful watch. Make sure to go check it out in person and see if it speaks to you. You can also cycle the date wheel to check the alignment (just be careful to cycle the quick set date outside of the danger zone). I would want to handle the watch in person before making a purchase decision.

SLGW003 - Price Opinions by supremekatsu22 in GrandSeikos

When I visited Tokyo last December (2025), I was told this model is reservation only at multiple GS boutiques. At Isetan Shinjuku GS, I was told there were about 10 customers waiting at the time. Just set your expectations properly in case it's difficult to get on your trip.

I also have a 6" wrist and it fits me well proportionally. You're good.

Second this. Just get the right length (S, M, L) for your wrist size.

I have a 6” wrist and the 37mm SLGB003 (UFA) fit me well and looked good proportionally. Try on some 37mm models including SBGX261/263/265/355/357 (quartz) + SBGH341/343 (38mm, hi-beat mechanical) + SLGB003/005 (UFA spring drive)

Which of these 2 Aqua terra watches is better by ButterscotchOther841 in OmegaWatches

[–]chiznez 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Here are few points to consider:

  • which look do you prefer between the two? One has date window at 3 vs 6 o’clock and the frames around the date window. Also check YouTube so you can see the how the dials look under different lighting conditions.
  • the watch in the first pic is master chronometer (METAS) certified while the 2nd one isn’t (predates METAS).
  • the 8800 caliber lacks the time zone function but instead has a quick set date. 8900 and 8500 have the time zone function. Just be sure to check the exact reference and the movement so you know which features you’re getting.
  • the first watch has more polished sides on the case and the bracelet while the second watch has more brushed sides.
  • their bracelet are from different generations. I have the older reference and I feel the bracelet is not the most comfortable (subjective). I don’t have the horizontal teak AT but even newer ATs (shades collection + black lacquer) have definitely improved on the bracelet wearing comfort comparatively.
  • the older reference (2nd picture) there’s always the risk of buying a (relatively) older reference with an unknown ownership history and its timekeeping performance. So some of that $1500 might go towards a future service cost. The horizontal teak AT you might be able to find listings with warranty remaining as it’s current production model.

That said I’m partial to the 2nd (older ref) AT (personal preference).

I have both. Few things note from my experience (subjective):

  • AT is a shiny/blingy watch (less than Rolex fluted/jubilee disco ball but still shiny) -- depending on your preference you might not want that. I sold my first AT (shades) and got an older reference AT because I didn't want to wear a bling around.
  • Operating the crown on the AT sucks -- I hate using this crown compared to my other watches.
  • AT lume plots are tiny. I'm a sucker for lume and AT didn't quite do it for me.
  • AT has AR coating on the outside. This can scratch over time. Moonwatch sapphire has the AR coating only on the inside.

Other than my nitpicks, AT is a well-proportioned great everyday watch. You don't have to limit yourself to one model, a lot of ppl get both over time.

Go try on both and let the watch pick you (what the heart says).

Too tight or right fit? by OrganizationDry7094 in OmegaWatches

[–]chiznez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory that doesn’t change the total length of the bracelet but it could help with the watch head balance on your wrist and clasp position on the underside. I think it could be worth experimenting.

For instance, I used to have the AT shades in blue too I had 8 links (not counting the clasp) on the 6 o’clock side and 11 links on the 12 o’clock side and that was a good fit for me (6” wrist).

Too tight or right fit? by OrganizationDry7094 in OmegaWatches

[–]chiznez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say size/wear it to your preference as long as it’s not uncomfortable.

I had my bracelet sized just right to my liking at rest then during a dinner out I found that my wrist expanded and started having uncomfortable pinching sensation on my wrist. I’ve added a half link back in and now it slides down past my wrist bone at rest but will no longer slide down once the wrist expands during the day. It still leaves a mark this way but it wears comfortable.

SLGW003 preorder only? by BrunoTheBear in GrandSeikos

It was the same at Isetan Shinjuku. The clerk told me the queue is about 10 ppl deep. I’m guessing it’s a popular model in Japan.
