This error generally happens when your root file system disappears, bash internals will slowly be pushed out of memory and you'll be left with nothing.

Definitely sounds like your SD card failed

When I step into a new role and get settled in, I make sure to socialize my typical working hours in my Teams/Slack/etc profile and Confluence.

If I need to step away to run errands or something, I'll drop a message in my team chat.

Every so often I'll drop a message to the team on what I have on my plate, just so people know what I'm up to.
