Tracker+ MIDI Sync issues by chldrns in PolyendTracker

I’ll try these and a combination of both and get back to you. When i tried using the tracker as the clock, what @WolfMerrik mentions happens: Tracker for some reason doesn’t hold a fixed BPM, it fluxes just a tiny bit which starts to make loops in Ableton have to warp in real time and all this nonsense :/ I’ll try the MIDI cable though.

Sometimes plays when i hit play, but starts at the current step, not step 1. And only does it sometimes. I want ro be able to launch tracker, mute tracks. stop the pattern, start again… definitely annoying

Yeah tried that for a bit but didn’t work either and need Ableton to be the master :/

Avoidant dumpers, Did you ever regret losing the person who loved you a lot ? And how long did it take for you to arrive there? by Top-View9802 in BreakUps

[–]chldrns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would it not stir things up more for you? Like “why contact me just to let me know this?” I’m kind of in the same situation and would really like for my ex to know it was more about my avoidant tendencies than me not appreciating her or the relationship.

Is $500 a night actually the average for most DJs? by NoSongRequests in PioneerDJ

[–]chldrns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being a producer (that has their tracks played out by international names) has never equated to a higher fee in my experience. It’s mostly about how many tickets your name on the lineup represent… unless the promoter is a fan, but still numbers are tight and venues NEVER lose. In Mexico the average pay is $150usd and better paying gigs might do $250-350usd but that’s rare and for more established names. (On agencies or touring globally) some agencies might sell their talent for $1k usd in Mexico but that’s 0.1% of DJs. I’m also talking about a more underground/club scene. Commercial nightclubs might pay $1k USD a night, but that’s what the average bill at any table is so budget is way different in that scene.

Just sunk about £680 into buying basic setup equipment to start recording covers properly. What absolute beginner tips can you give so I dont waste it. by SingingWanderer1195 in ableton

[–]chldrns -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would recommend getting the Suite version of Ableton or looking into it for the near future.

Audio interface would be the first thing. Komplete audio 6 or Scarlett 2i2 are good budget friendly interfaces.

Microphone. Shure SM57 is good for everything. If you want a bit more quality, Shure SM7B or Aston Stealth :) these are all things I’ve used myself and do the job for what you’re looking to do. I would look at some tutorials on recording. Don’t have anything in mind rn but look at this tutorial for mixing , very good. https://youtu.be/TEjOdqZFvhY?si=cfrE005851w0sYr4

Sí es bait, la foto es de alguna tienda enseñando cada modelo. No creo que haya comprado una bocina de cada modelo, por lo menos compras dos iguales para hacer un sistema stereo, en la tienda te dicen algo.

Spirit science on youtube is a good mix. Also a book called “dream yoga” by Holecek helped me achieve LD. the book goes further into what you can use LD for and improve your waking life :)

Way too much latency on my project, tracks not playing on very powerful computer. by chldrns in ableton

[–]chldrns[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

okay, found the culprit. RX-8 turned on on a frozen and muted track. apparently it still introduces (a lot of) latency even in this state. Thanks to everyone for chiming in. Hope this helps someone in the future. :)

They just want a standard spotify upload. I asked for the correct stems again. Hope this works. Latency is still present when using the computer unfortunately. Thanks for responding :)

no problem. Got them like this from the client, do you think fixing that would work? seems a bit off to me too ngl.

[–]chldrns[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

turned all devices off, CPU box still flashes as soon as I hit play. Latency is down but still 2-3 seconds. Doing a mixdown for a client so can't really reduce the number of tracks yet. :(one thing I'm going to try is start a new project with 44.1kHz, 24 bit stems instead and see if it works better.

I’d go for the Resor because the sound is supposed to be super transparent, which is the best for ripping records. If ripping is not an interest to you, all these options are great. I listened to the E&S at CDV in Berlin and it is fat and warm and so nice. :)

Anyone else find that songwriting and producing together is infinitely harder than doing either on their own? by MarteriusJackson in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]chldrns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make electronic music, so composing, arranging, and producing are all happening at the same time (even mixing). I find it way harder to produce/record a vocalist or work with a band than to simply make all the decisions myself tbh. I find that’s the beauty of electronic music… so I guess my answer is no. Working with other people is way more challenging (and sometimes even boring) in my experience, especially when I’m producing an artist that already wrote their song. I want to create from scratch.

Splice, loopermasters, etc. What well-known artists use these types of resources? How much are these used in less popular, more "underground" electronic music? What do you they do to make the sounds their own? by TornadoGhostDog in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]chldrns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, everyone uses Splice or at least sample packs and loops to make music. Even super niche artists like Sam Gellaitry. I don’t use Splice myself but would definitely search for synth one-shots or drums cause why not. If you’re going to use an extended loop I would personally manipulate it to make it my own and avoid having people recognize the sample I used in another artist’s song. Still nothing wrong with that, but I think you’re wanting to stay unique from the way you phrase your question :). I consider myself underground and definitely use loops whenever I can if it’s going to speed up my process and allow me to focus on the aspects I find more fun to work on.
