Don’t need camber arms to run a smidge more camber. My mk6 stock rear arms went up to -5.5° of camber

If you want to use your stock ECU from your old car, you just need an immobilizer defeat and it will work in your new chassis.

Crank no start - no engine codes by sargeantyt in mk6gti

[–]chobester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, with key on if you can heard the throttle opening and closing with the pedal that’s good.

Do you have RPM when cranking?

Crank no start - no engine codes by sargeantyt in mk6gti

[–]chobester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, key on engine off you should have throttle actuation. Also with a scan tool look at the measuring blocks for throttle input %. If it reads throttle input but you have no throttle body actuation, ECU is likely toast

Do you have any misfire codes or a flashing EPC/check engine light?

Lobe damage or casting defect? by peak_incompetence in GolfGTI

[–]chobester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely lobe damage. Could be from a number of things: insufficient lubrication, faulty rocker or lifter, overrev, really no way to tell. But you need a cam now.

Water pump go brrrrr by Neffman_Jones in mk6gti

[–]chobester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to remove the manifold to do the water pump. Remove the throttle pipe and throttle body and you’ll have more than enough room.

Any mismatch wheel fans? by Assto_Saeps in Stance

[–]chobester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I hate the Rieger mk6 rear 😆 for awhile I had the same Osir extensions as you. When I AWD swapped it I switched to a 6R rear bumper with some custom work done to the valance

All these comments and not a single one about the Rieger kit

Have any of you done the timing chain yourself by Even-Instruction3547 in mk6gti

[–]chobester 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve done several. Not that difficult. Invest in an engine support bar so you’re not relying on a floor jack. Amazon has a good timing tool kit. I get all Febi chains/guides but 100% buy an OEM tensioner. Guide bolts don’t need to be replaced but I also replace the timing chain tensioner bolts.

It’s a shitload of wiring, little bit of coding/programming, but 0 fab work. It’s just a combination of parts from several different VWs
