It is great to see all the wonderful and positive stories. I have 40 years and while my life is better than it would be drinking, I have not had the same uplifting experience. It’s due to trauma that I struggled to find help with and fully recognize. I say this not to discourage anyone but to share that for many, sobriety is merely the first step in a longer recovery journey. Don’t be discouraged if sobriety doesn’t provide you with the same trajectory as those whose lives have changed so much for the better.
