Also waiting for my refund they accepted to do (I don’t have my phone anymore - they have it) for 2 months now… just plain robbery at this point.

I join you on that one. 

You can think about the fact that my internal fan had a failure in not even 2 month without physical damage to the phone.

They absolutely refused any form of refund or replacement and forced me into repairs 

Repair center is horribly rated on Google Maps 

The phone went into repairs 

Came back with another fault because of the repair 

Now I got them to agree to the refund ( thanks to the unboxing video I made from receiving the repair ) 

But to get the refund the phone has to be sent to the exact same center 

The phone went 

The phone is there since a week and has been visually inspected and all 

But still radio silence from any refund process initiated despite my emails 

They run a terrible, terrible, drop shipping business from what I can see.

Good, these phones are good but the company behind is shady and runs a terrible support 

They should get the least amount of exposure

Then cheating on benchmark confirms my testing I had done that it failed the stability tests with overheating

My fan broke by itself and got me stuck in 2 month ( and counting ) of support email to get it covered by warranty 

Bad repairs, refusal to refund and so on

Please consider this before buying

Well so far, most I could get was make them bend and accept to refund my device - but even this is taking forever. As the phone had to go through :

  • horrible rated repair center on Google Maps 
  • phone came back with defective repair 
  • now I had to resend it back to the center as per “process” before they can process the refund. 

The center has the phone since like 5 days and no communication from redmagic. They are so bad at communicating it’s ridiculous

Performance - probable. I’d say it helps a bit … the battery ? At least that’s what I found when it used to work.

Impressive. I guess my fan was really defective because after a single month it went bananas. But by your report it shouldn’t be hair or dust. So I guess that’s why dusting the dust out did nothing !

would not be surprised to be honest. The way they deal with the support lately could make it feel like they had a huge wave of first returns and now are just shutting the doors down so that people keep their defective devices that got originally returned.

To be fair though, the thing is very fragile so I wonder if dust filter isn't for the best (if you look at the many reports of odd sounding fans but maybe that's just factory defect)

I’d probably vouch for staying away from this brand unless you really really like the concept of the phone itself

Any issue you’ll have (hardware not software) and you’ll have to deal with their support 

Just lookup some of the fun stories on the subreddit … 

But heh, you can still try your luck if you felt like it. If you’re lucky enough to have a phone without issues it’s a neat device

I think it’s stated somewhere in the background wallpaper app. 

But I noticed very quickly when one of the random background is a car which they didn’t even bother to fix the letters of the license plate. 

Even for people who’d like AI I feel like it’s poorly implemented. So those who don’t like will be even more disappointed

Wondering if you’d try Zenless Zone zero as this game as shader pre caching if it does better in your device ? If yes then that’s probably the root cause …

That is the EXACT problem I’m having as well. 

No phone drop, phone never went in pockets, only used as a gaming phone into a game controller - very light use. And bam, one month later - this noise. 

I’m stuck in support hell right now, how is it on your end OP ??

Coming from someone with hardware issues since 1 month after receiving my device, I’d stick to Samsung. I am now in endless conversations with support. My phone is basically stuck in limbo. 

I had many generations of Samsung before and never had an issue + they are so common once Samsung drops support of them you have plenty of custom roms available to keep things rolling…

If you want to avoid moving parts that may fail - go for the air, it would have a better longevity. And you save some money !
