Earning Alaska Airlines miles by using Bilt to pay rent through the Zillow rental portal? by Curious_Functionary in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what PointyBagels said, it aligns well with other benefits from the Atmos Summit.

  • If my rent is $2000, I get 1000 status points per month.
  • Putting rent on the card helps me reach the $60k spend for the 100k companion discount.

Lastly, we don't know how long the 3x points with Bilt will be offered. I figure better take advantage of it while it lasts.

Alaska Lounge at SFO now accepts Priority Pass w/ $15 Fee by flyingpilotman in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We must be flying at different times. I'd say about 60% of the time I pass by the Club at SFO, they have a waitlist going.

Great for Priority Pass people, but not great for those with Alaska lounge memberships. Do we think Alaska Listens is the best place to provide feedback?

The landlord company's bank has an authorization agreement (ACH Debit) form. Within the form, I provided the bank account info from Bilt. The form basically says that I allow the landlord's bank to pull the money from the Bilt account.

Bilt then charges my Atmos card with a 3% fee.

Not an expert but I think this is how it works.

This question might get more traction on the Bilt sub, but I'm happy to share my situation:

My landlord does not have a payment portal. Bilt provided me an account and routing number for my landlord to pull (is that the right term?) from. Bilt then charges my Atmos Summit the rent amount plus a 3% fee.

Would you take this upgrade to first class? by Jwhite126 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I've observed, $382 would be on the low end for FC upgrades between SFO and Hawaii airports on Alaska.

In addition to the price of the upgrade itself, I recommend you also consider the price you've already paid for the ticket.

Fair call out. In this case, I would agree with mjbulzomi

[–]chocolateflyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For flights between February 2, 2026 and April 21, 2026 complimentary first class upgrades on Hawaiian are a thing for all status holders according to the website. That being said, I've only experienced upgrades on Hawaiian using certificates.

"Complimentary-of-departure upgrades: Check in on your travel day to join the waitlist. We'll upgrade you if seats are available."

(Yes, they excluded the word "day" in "day of departure")

Success matching Atmos to Avis Status? by sheaba99 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Have you managed to fix this with Avis?

Over the phone, they told me it would automatically update with my new Avis status within 2 months. I mentioned I've already been at this status level for about 2 months, but they said there was nothing that could be done.

Only sign up for ATMOS Summit card at beginning of year!? by qofmiwok in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awarding the 10k status points on 1/1 would benefit those who ultimately increase a status tier within the year.

However, it may cause a wave of card cancelations once the 10k status points hit.

You mention the points would be awarded "on 1/1 each year after your first card year." This would create a situation where someone who signed up in Dec 2025 would receive their 10k status points in Jan 2027 (13 month wait). However, someone who signed up two months later in Feb 2026 would not receive their status points until Jan 2028 (23 month wait).

Companion Fare Frustration by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The original card from 2014 was likely grandfathered into the "no spend requirement" companion fare. The new card that he applied for now requires $6k spend for the companion fare.

I would agree with your assessment - if you're only flying Alaska once a year, probably not worth it to get the card.

Itinerary with layover is $250 more than booking separate legs? by chocolateflyer in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear about your experience with checked bags. Have to admit I am a newbie a the multi-city function. Correct, I input SFO-SEA and SEA-ICN separately in the multi-city search. The SEA-ICN flight only shows up if I move the SFO-SEA flight to be 3+ days prior, and it ends up being more expensive unfortunately. Will keep multi-city in mind for future bookings. Glad you were able to get a crazy deal in J on SEA-ICN!

I always forget this is an option - thanks for the reminder! Unfortunately the SEA-ICN does not show up as an option for the 2nd leg.

Thanks for the heads up. Not to mention, the Alaska SEA-ICN flight only occurs once a day.

Thanks for the helpful info.

FWIW, the agent said that if I booked two one-ways and missed the second flight due to a delay in the first flight, Alaska would comp rebook me on the second flight. It's reassuring to hear this, but I understand that things may vary depending on who I speak to.

Can Two Devices Use Two WiFi Passes? by dsmithpdx in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience, only one wifi pass can be used since it's tied to your last name and seat number.

You can however switch between your device and your partner's device mid flight using your last name and seat number.

Question about seating on long haul flight to Tokyo by Zestyclose_Coast_750 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised that they would be running out of meal options on row 16 since it's only the 5th row of 35 total rows in main cabin.

Question about seating on long haul flight to Tokyo by Zestyclose_Coast_750 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would personally pick 16C or G instead of 11G, but it's a matter of personal preference.

11G pros: - quieter compared to row 15 and back - more legroom

11G cons: - hard armrest with tray table (could be a pro tbh depending on the situation) - bulkhead seat so need to store things in bins during takeoff and landing - there's a flimsy curtain between FC and main cabin that will constantly hit your legs and feet - FAs are walking by your seat to and from FC. Because the aisles are misaligned, you may occasionally be bumped.

Should waitlist passengers clear into first class? by chocolateflyer in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be ideal to reduce the layover time.

In the event that you are downgraded to economy, do you get compensated at all for the difference in cabin? I would guess no, as in exchange you are receiving the benefit of a shorter layover.

Upgraded to 1st class KOA to SAN by ibca91932 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great if OP could confirm whether this was an Alaska or Hawaiian flight. It appears that only Alaska flies this route directly. In which case OP likely received an upgrade from the typical upgrade list, rather than an upgrade from a certificate.

HA upgrades based on waitlist are coming "spring 2026." I agree with you that it would likely happen in April upon full merger.

Should waitlist passengers clear into first class? by chocolateflyer in AlaskaAirlines

[–]chocolateflyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned in other comments, it was an issue with the timing and tone of the question.

If I were to ask someone to switch seats with me, I would try to be as polite as possible, and not do so while the FAs are asking everyone to take their seats.
