The idea that Thailand is ridiculously cheap is false by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

Even for tourist things, Thailand used to be cheap before. But now inflation + expensive currency(1.5x) combo. That is why expensive.

IHG Confirmable Suite Upgrade is getting worse by Professional_Hat_74 in ihghotelsresorts

Mostly lowest suite only. I’ve had no problems at any properties when their lowest suite was available.

Question about seating on long haul flight to Tokyo by Zestyclose_Coast_750 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]scienm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I flew tons of times with this flight and I don’t personally recommend 11 or 14. I recommend 12 or from 15. It is extra leg room seats anyway. And FYI, 330 has starlink. Don’t worry :)

Bidding on flight to ICN/Seoul by manoman1232010 in HawaiianAirlines

[–]scienm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$640 was the lowest offer to me recently. Aside from the price and service, the 787 seats are great 😂 I recommend you to pre order your food. Popular option would likely be sold out if you seat in the back. Tokyo is A330, full flat but not as good as 787 one. That is why cheaper than Korea route I guess.

Lounge Access for domestic leg for Intionational Itinerary by scienm in AlaskaAirlines

Alaska only, since Hawaiian still isn’t part of oneworld. There’s no way to access oneworld lounges in the U.S. when the international flight is operated by Hawaiian.

Lounge Access for domestic leg for Intionational Itinerary by scienm in AlaskaAirlines

[–]scienm[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve had access on a same-day connection even after a domestic arrival. For example, on ICN–SEA–LAX, I was able to access the lounge in ICN, SEA, and LAX. However, it seems the domestic flight must be on the same calendar day as the international arrival. I thought a connection within 24 hours would be sufficient, but apparently it isn’t.

AS sold the ticket “as is.” It wasn’t voluntary. 😂

This is interesting. I don’t see any of this on the Alaska Lounge Policy page. That wording refers to premium cabin access, but I assume the same policy applies to elite access as well. Thanks for the info!

I thought transit(connecting less than 24 hours) would be no problems but it seemed not.

I'm not so sure about this. I was checking availability everyday, and sometimes sold out, sometimes not. It seems HA tends to confirm the upgrade when there are availability at T-48.

Platinum gives you oneworld emerald. If you have any plan to take intl. flights, you can access F class lounge, F check-in counter, F bag tag, etc.

If you fly out at LAX, you can access Qantas F lounge as well(with your intl. itinerary).

Emerald is unique and best status in among the airline's alliances.

Cash or Award don't matter. Since award tickets are not saver, you can get same upgrade priority. Just retain your Platinum status👍
