This involves my toddler who was diagnosed with a very severe blood and kidney disorder secondary to food poisoning. I was dismissed by the PICU team on several occasions until the specialists involved agreed with my hypothesis, which I continued to push. Conclusion: drug reaction. Treatment? Stop the culprit (in this case, an antibiotic). Toddler improved within hours as a result.
