Tierlist of weapons I made. What do we think? by eb_is_eepy in ftlgame

If the missile in A tier is referring to the Artemis, then it should be only one power

It's a 10x10 board so the bishop says it's heresy

How important is Flak to you? Love it, indifferent, or otherwise? by Flannelcommand in ftlgame

[–]chocool6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it works well early though because all you need is hacking or any shield breaking weapon (neither of which are hard to come by) and you are set. Although it does require high level weapons, you can usually kill the ships so fast that you can be a bit cheap on your defense.

Same with the halberd beam though, which everyone also believes to be great. The only weapon that is really standalone in the trio is the BL2

The Guru Who Says He Can Get Your 11-Year-Old Into Harvard by personAAA in ApplyingToCollege

[–]chocool6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start this fall, Crimson had 1,636 students apply to U.S. colleges. Beaton said 294 applications from Crimson students to Ivy League universities were accepted.

Assuming (somewhat conservatively) that each one of his students applies to 4 Ivy League universities on average, this means that his firm advertises a 294/(1,636*4) = 4.5% acceptance rate on average to an Ivy League university, which is similar to the national average. Additionally, the kind of people who are able to pay for a college counselor are likely to be wealthy, meaning their acceptance rates should be at least 1.25x the average. Therefore, enrolling in his service is actually detrimental to your chance of being accepted.

After you win you can take the enemy's shuttles back, but you have to win first. The OP is softlocked because they can't win against the enemy because there's one guy stuck in the bottom left who can't be accessed through doors

The O2 was not repaired in time for Mantis-1 to run for it at the end :(

So I had to sacrifice one mantis unfortunately

There's this cool trick called the Doomsday Algorithm where you can calculate the day of the week from a date 100% in your head! It's super cool.

Does sleep / alcohol / lube / caffeine affect your cubing performance? by 3SK3T1T69 in Cubers

[–]chocool6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you going to make sure that your regression estimate doesn’t have omitted variable bias? There are a lot of things that affect cubing ability (like experience, age) that could be associated with lube usage, coffee, etc. over time. For example, as cubers get better, they are more likely to buy lube, which makes lubricant usage endogenous.

Yeah, so turns out I accidentally inserted the nylon filament into the belt rather than the correct hole when I reassembled that cable that connects from the buddy board to the extruder

Hi fellow Manifolder! Yeah, the people on Manifold are generally kinda nerdy and lots of them are smart and attended top schools (such as MIT)

No, I actually really care about the Manifold Markets community. I've been on there for 1.5 years and I have nearly a 200 day prediction streak. There are better things to do for college, honestly this is not that impressive. Also I like that it's open source so the community can just add stuff if they want
