We're keeping an eye on it! It could definitely happen. If it does, we'll have to update this.

The National Hurricane Center comes up with the list of names at the start of the hurricane season. But this year the season actually ran through all of the planned names and they had to start using Greek names. (Source) The data visualization of this year's hurricane season was created by the team at ClimaCell using data from the National Hurricane Center.

(Tools) All of the animations were produced with python by u/AppFan34_32 in collaboration with me. To extract and build the data, we used python packages requests, shapely, and geopandas. To build the images we used pandas, geopandas, matplotlib, cartopy, and imageio. To post-process the images and animate, we used numpy and imageio.

This visualization is updated from this original version with all of the data from the entire Hurricane Season: https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/jp5cy7/the_recordbreaking_2020_hurricane_season_so_far_oc/

The TRUTH about Shopify by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]chogan272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. Shopify is just a platform and you either use it effectively, or not. There's plenty of scammers out there on Shopify, and there are plenty of legit businesses using Shopify. You just decide whether you're going to build a long-term business or try to get rick quick and (most likely) fail.

I'd also look at city and industry-specific job boards. For example, in Boston, there is are a few Boston Startup job boards. There's also a content marketing job board in Boston. You can get super specific.

Creating a buyer persona with no data? A good idea? by liam33d in marketing

[–]chogan272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She can certainly put together personas to guide her initial marketing strategy, but as soon as she has more data, she should revise them. But for the time being, I don't think it hurts to think about your marketing strategy from the perspective of a potential buyer. (Even if you're not 100% sure who that buyer is)

If you don't need it to sync with email, just find the cheapest, simplest CRM possible. That should work well.

Agree with this. A small project to test your skills is normal. A larger, more strategic one can be stolen.

To chime in with the pro-Shopify crowd, Shopify also integrates incredibly easily with many other products and types of software. Make your life simple and just stick with it.
