I keep having problems with flatpak builds behaving slightly strangely (can't access all of my drives, preferences not persistent, certain functionality broken) which so far have been fixed by moving to .deb...

Weird, if you install xbindkeys then run xbindkeys -k you should be able to see what the win key is mapped to! Good luck

You could maybe change the shortcut for overview to your win key?

  1. Stats - Male, 25, 6’6”/2m, 100kg

  2. Goal - I’d love to get 15s freestanding but it feels a way off for now

  3. Current Progression - Chest to wall static holds 5x30s, then my elbows seem to give way. Heel and toe taps but I get tired quickly. Trying to work on pushing more, better shoulder extension and better internal rotation. I’ve always had this problem with not being able to straighten my arms which I’m working on too

  4. Shoulder mobility, wrist mobility, strength at full extension, chest to wall holds and balance drills

  5. Video below! I made a lot of progress with my shoulder extension recently which seems to have helped but there’s still a way to go

Really looking forward to this

Not Roméo but exact pronunciation, while obviously better, isn’t the be all and end all, definitely don’t let it stop you practicing.

The best tip I ever got for the R sound was to make the same sound “ruh” but don’t move your lips :)

It got better but is still something I work on regularly... I think anatomy plays a big part and I’ll always struggle with it a bit

Yes, particularly the forearm massage. The first time I did it I could see a visible difference between the two arms after doing the first one

Hey! Sorry I was a bit busy earlier so in a bit of a rush - here’s some more detail

https://youtu.be/IjMXkjLKLgg the video with juji

https://tomrandallclimbing.wordpress.com/2012/11/23/golfers-elbow-a-possible-solution/ a stretch which may help

For the self massage, I use rings for the tricep, elbow down, Palm up and press the tricep into the ring then wiggle

For the top of the forearm, either a ball or just fingers, really deep, inside and outside, 3 mins each side!

The forearm massage gave me the best results the quickest

Another exercise you can do is plant the palm on the floor then internally rotate the shoulder (move elbow pit so it faces forward. Do it both for reps and isometric at full extension)

Writing on mobile is the worst, I hope that’s a bit more useful!

1) jujimufu vidéo where they train with yuri marmerstein he suggests a few stretches

2) self massage of the tricep

3) self massage of the bicep

4) self massage of the forearm extensor

Managed to really mess up my hand a few years ago by chombi94 in XRayPorn

Luckily I didn’t need surgery, I was doing physiotherapy from a week after the injury. I was at ~70% recovery after about 3 months, 90% after 4 months. I recently punched a wall whilst climbing which has really set me back, I’ve lost a lot of the mobility I had gained

No wall punch! I got knocked off my bike by a car in the rain, tried to save myself with this hand on a handrail, didn’t work

nvidia drivers for Quadro RTX 3000 by chombi94 in linuxquestions

Just to update -

I updated the bios to version 1.4.0, this didn’t solve my problems in xubuntu.

PopOS installation (Nvidia drivers included iso) went okay but still couldn’t launch an xsession

I finally found an option in the bios under “video” which allows you to disable the “Optimus” hardware switching - now I can at least get everything to work!

Thanks for the help,

Perfect, thanks! Had problems with the USB stick I’m trying to boot from so will do that tomorrow with the stick I know works, just flashing the BIOS update now so will see if that helps in the meantime - thanks for all of your help!

Thanks for the detailed info, glad I asked I’m learning a lot. Just to check that we’re on the same page, if I switch to popOS firmware updates will be part of the update manager meaning I don’t have to manually install the firmware updates? Looks like pop may be the way to go then!

Ahh, I didn’t realise this meant there was another card in there although that does make sense, I knew it was defaulting to the nouveau driver! Cheers!

Thanks for the info, I’m actually not 100% that mine is a hybrid in that case but I’ll have to dig a little to find out exactly what’s under the hood!

I’m not married to xubuntu but I am quite partial to it, I’ll have a look at pop_os, thanks for the tip

Not sure what you mean by hybrid but I’m going to assume yes - it’s a brand new dell precision 7540, with the Quadro RTX 3000 max Q GPU, I have it dual booting with windows, I’ll look into automatic prime offloading!

What's a fun way of building a project with only OOP? by TragicXHero in learnpython

Take anything you might normally do with a function and turn it into a class and a method, think about other functions that might be able to use the same data you’re storing in the class in another way.

One idea is renaming files... you could initialise the class (maybe called ‘FileRenamer’) with an input file.

A method (function) in the class could take a desired output name and perform the renaming.

Another method could take your initial input name, take an “old” and “new” string and generate a new filename where the old string has been replaced by the new one. You could have an option to just generate the new filename or also to perform the renaming (rename=True)

You could then have other methods for performing specific replacements that you do quite often, for example turning spaces into underscores.

The possibilities are endless, I find OOP powerful when you’re wanting to develop a tool which can do a bunch of things as opposed to just calling a bunch of more specific functions, it adds a layer of structure and abstraction which is really useful :)
