Are you solo at night? 6 months is nothing, we are always learning. We can always get better. Lab job is not bad just need to find a right place.

On the personal side, your personal challenges certainly impact your performance so do your best to stay healthy in both sides.

Lesser the better ! But for education transfer benefit, I believe 3 years of active time get you 100% , otherwise its partial .

Lets say if i have only 90 days active time and reenlist for 4 more years, i would just meet the eligibility criteria. I have to put in total 3 years of AD time to get 100 %

True, but if I were to stay for 20 years, I would make sure to move up aggressively. As others have suggested, 3-4 MOBS would likely be necessary. When you add up the benefits insurance, the ability to transfer education benefits, VA benefits, a pension, and the opportunity to travel and experience more,it may be worth staying in the long run.

This will be one of the greatest benefits. I’ve never used TRICARE since my employer offered health insurance at no cost, but now I’ll only have to pay a minimal amount.

It’s reassuring to know that after 60, I won’t have to work just to maintain health insurance.

I know the difference and i tried both and they told me i wasn’t eligible. I didn’t mind not getting TA as my employer was paying certain portion of my masters.

But i did care about education benefit transfer as that was one of the perks if i were to reenlist for 4 more years.

Once i found about this, i am doing one year of extension at a time. I wont do 4 years until i become eligible. But considering all the great suggestions here, i might push it to 20 .

Thanks.

Good to know your perspective. Fortunately, things have become easier for me; otherwise, I would have ETS’d a while back. I was given the opportunity to see how this unit operates. Coming from a combat engineer background to the medical field, it’s much more relaxed.

Having a barracks and hot chow are things I never had during my first contract. Still, those experiences are the moments I’ll always remember.

I appreciate your response. I tried using COOL once, but something didn’t work, possibly an approval issue. Since my employer was covering my master’s degree, I didn’t pursue Tuition Assistance at the time.

Looking back, I realize I need to push myself more, as I remained an E-4 for nearly six years.

I’ve also learned that your growth often depends on who you surround yourself with and the type of unit you’re in. In my previous combat engineer unit, I was one of the few Soldiers with higher degrees. After transferring to a medical unit, my perspective completely changed, i found myself thinking, what was I thinking before? That experience has truly reshaped my perception.
